I just watched the new Jimquisition and read all the things that would make us forgive Sony, but they for got one thing. The one thing we've all wanted since they debuted the f(*&^$ monolith like 5 years ago, Final Fantasy 7. Yes, we're all sick of people griping over it, but picture this. Ever since people saw that tech demo, they've been going crazy over it, thinking it was being remade, we're STILL going crazy over it! But PSN pretty much made us point our rifles of hate at Sony and now they need to find a way to receive forgiveness. Well one way would be to give PSN users vouchers granting them like 3-5 free PS3 games that you can get at Gamestop. The other way is to remake games we all love, profitable ones! We already got Mass effect, let's remake Halo 1 for PS3, or just quit being a tease and give us FF7. We all loved that game, Cloud is the face of emo heroes and JRPGs in general, the Buster Blade is the sword we picture when someone says ,"giant sword."(i think of the Blade of Olympus).

Okay so what if Sony comes back and the hold a press conference saying PSN is back, and they said they would remake Final Fantasy 7 as an apology, like fully remade, graphics and all! Would you forgive them?

**I know Sony is not responsible for making FF7, they just publish it. But now that the PS3 has the graphics of a supercomputer, and enough people want Final Fantasy 7 remade, they could pay Square Enix to remake FF7 and recieve forgiveness. Now stop going," U do kno dat Enix make FF7, yaaaaaaaaaaah?????" it's getting annoying, ya bunch of OCD...peoples...

You're forgetting the vote that says "I don't blame Sony", but I'll forgive you.

No, it would make me hate them. It's fine how it is. Leave it be. Enix would just find some way to ruin it for everyone.
That's a needed option in the poll.

Um...what has that got to do with "forgiving Sony"

Square Enix makes the games, not Sony.

You do know that...right?

Final Fantasy has nothing to do with Sony. It is square Enix who make the FF games. And it would have to be a complete remake with the voice actors from advent children to make me forgive SE for FFs 11 to 13.

Also it is not entirely Sony's fault.

Except I don't blame Sony and Final Fantasy 7 is made by Square Enix not Sony, so how could it's remake help Sony?

I'd rather have them spend the time and resources making a new game the remaking an old one. If you really want FFVII go play the original, it's still good.

Yes, but what if Enix released FF7 solely for the PS3, no other system. PS3 exclusive, with remade graphics and the voicecast from Advent Children. I mean, they got the ingredients set up why can't they just go ahead and put 'em all in a blow, mix it, and bake that *****.

Sony =/= Square Enix.

And I don't think either of them is in a position to spend large amounts of money on anything like this at this moment in time, regardless of how good the end result.

Yes, i know, there's a f(*&^$ edit up there, I know the difference.

It's getting annoying, like someone telling you that your drifting while you drive.

If they somehow twisted enough arms to remake Xenogears or Legend of the Dragoon, then I would buy another PS3.

In all seriousness, I really don't blame them for this, and I'm actually kind of sickened that we're going after them instead of focusing efforts on the hackers (as well as better internet security in general).

As for a remake of FF7, well

Throw 12 in there and that's my opinion.

I know, people have told me 50 times, I have enough of a brain to know that Sony publishes the code while Square Enix make the code.

To put this into what this correction is like, imagine me kicking down the door to your classroom and looking right over your shoulder in the middle of midterms and going,"not that's wrong, that's wrong, spelled that wrong, that one's stupid, your dumb for choosing that one"

It's more annoying than demoralizing.

This thread really has no discussion value. Even thought Square Enix makes games published on the ps3 they are not exclusive, just look at FFXIII, its also on the Xbox 360. so Square Enix and Sony are not buddie ol pals. Even if it did happen, why would anyone thank Sony, they didnt do anything.

Screw that, it was Sony's fault for getting hacked. The hackers dont just choose randomly, Sony pissed a lot of people off and now they got what was coming to them. But the customers who had their information stolen didnt deserve it.

Most of what I would have said has been said.
-Not Sony's fault
-Final Fantasy remakes aren't Sony's call
-It would take more than a remake of VII for Square Enix to redeem themselves after pretty much all the post-PlayStation Final Fantasies.

But if Sony went to the trouble of gathering the teams who made the first two Legacy of Kain games (Blood Omen and Soul Reaver) and having THEM remade with Soul Reaver's original ending restored and promised to not force the release of a game before the devs are satisfied that it's finished at any point in the next ten years, the good PR very well could cause a brief period where Sony is more popular than Nintendo.

And while I'm fantasizing, I'd also like a new side-scrolling platformer Zelda with Metroidvania design (Because really, Metroidvania is just Zelda if it were Super Mario) and for Malon to be Link's companion a la Charlotte from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.

On a more realistic note, I might be willing to forgive the PS2-era Final Fantasy titles if V were given a full-3D remake on the 3DS and Exdeath's name were translated as "Exodus."

I thought 12 was okay, 11 needs to go die in a ditch, and for 13, I'm gonna get a little complicated.

I'm gonna go back in time, knock out the guy who suggested FFXIII and disguise myself as him(since it's the future) than walk into the board meeting and say,"let's remake FF7, we'll get enough money to build a giant monument to Cloud if we do it," and if they say,"who will we get to voice it," i'd just go," didn't we make an entire CGI movie off the game like 7 years ago with voice actors? we can't use them? Well ,we could change up the voice actor for Barret for Isaiah Musatafa, or Cloud's voice actor for Isaiah Mustafa," Isaiah Mustafa is good with anything, imagine what he could do to Final Fantasy 7.

Remaking FF7 would probably make me go into a rage.
BUT! I will admit that secretly, I want it for the voice acting.

1. I don't blame Sony.
2. FF7 has nothing to do with Sony.
3. For the love of god, leave FF7 alone. No we don't need a remake of it. Quit beating a dead horse.

Yeah, but they're getting a lot of grief from the community of those who don't know who to be mad at. Might be a sufficient scapegoat.
