The game is hide and go seek. You are suppose to go out and find the other people playing the game who are hiding out there somewhere. But instead of physically going out there to look for them, you have a bunch of robots you made go out and look for you. And when they find someone, they let you know so you never even have to leave the couch. All you have to do is yell out "I found you!"

I'm not sure if I would consider it full blown cheating, since no one beforehand claimed you couldn't use robots to play the game for you, but you are definitely not actually playing the game. And definitely not as it's meant to be played. So would you consider it cheating or just a smart loophole?

Edit: lets just say the reason to use robots in this game, whether cheating or not, is the quickest seeker wins an awesome date with me (or Jessica Alba if they so prefer.)

Cheating. Imagine if they weren't robots they were guys you paid to do it for you. The point is there are now many of you and the the game is based on there being only one of you. No one would be able to run home free, taking the skill out of the game for you and the possibility of winning from everyone else.

Essentially, it breaks the game balance in your favor, it's cheating.

Cheating, you are not playing the robots are, and why are you playing hide and seek when you got awsome robots?

Clearly your robots need rocket launchers and/or flamethrowers.

OT: Cheating.

Why am I not using these roh-bits for sexual gratification instead of playing hide and seek with them? Because that doesn't sound like the choice I'd make.

It's not cheating. Hide and seek is a skill game. Being clever and witty is a part of the deal.

So would you consider it cheating if they threatened to kill everyone else if they beat them? Maybe not as clever or witty, but still would require skill (strength, maliciousness, presence, etc.)

If you have robots, why waste them playing hide and seek.
I think that is the question we should be asking.
That's actually the first question that came to my mind. If you have the skill to do such things, why waste them on a simple game where you know you're going to cause conflict when you should be out making serious money. Or committing more exciting crime if you're so inclined.

It's cheating as in you are using more than one robot so it is like you are seeking them all at the same time (the robot represent you therefore you cannot be everywhere at once). However if you are only using one robot than it's fine since that single robot represent you.
Also I wouldn't necessary calling it cheating, I would call it laziness.

Like you said you arent actually playing the game yourself when everybody agreed that YOU would be the one looking for them. A robot is not actually a person so he might as well yell 'i found you' instead of you, well because you didnt do shit to find anyone.

Definition of cheating: To act dishonestly or unfairly to gain an advantage.

In the example the player employed robots to help him/her gain a numerical superiority, this makes it much harder for the other players but gives him/her a significant advantage which can be viewed as unfair. Therefore that would be cheating.

I cannot say with the little context you gave. Are the "hiders" allowed to do the same? Can they have robot decoys that could be found instead of themselves? What about other tech? Could they use surveillance equipment to spot your robots and move before they got too close?

Also, what is the point of playing the game if all you are going to do is sit on your couch while a robot does all the work? If you are getting paid for it, sure. But if you are "playing" for fun what is the point of letting a bot do everything while you watch Futurama?

The 'hiders' cant use any technology to help them hide.

If they have means of gaining robots, it is possible for them to use them when they seek, but then the same question of cheating would apply to them as well. Definitely, only a very select few would have such means.

Granted, some person just might wish to win that date with me so bad they would be willing to pay millions for such an advantage. It's possible!

Nah.
You could argue it's cheating since you use several robots, but other than that...

It'd definitely be cheating if you were playing kick the can though.
