I drink Cow milk and they're pretty filthy (and fantastically stupid) creatures. I'd at least be willing to try Whale milk.

The very fact that this many people balk at the idea of drinking whale's milk when about 100% of them will happily sip milk from a cow's/goat's udder is ridiculous. Ridiculous.

What is more ridiculous still is that it is more acceptable for an adult to drink cow's milk than human's milk. Made for humans.
I doubt very much that most people would drink PURE straight from the utter cow's milk.
Does it matter? The fact remains that we are essentially drinking milk from the tit of another species. How is that less 'wrong' than drinking from the nipple of our own species?

And no one said the whale milk was unpasteurised.

I'm not even sure Whales produce milk.

I thought for sure you misspelled Whole Milk
(-_-); Christ, I hope you were being sarcastic.
Is it that weird to not know whales make milk? I know mammals make milk, but I thought it was a very common characteristic, not an absolute requirement of being a mammal.
Mammal. Mammary gland. The whole premise of being a mammal is warm blood, live young, produces own milk.
Ok yeah, that is pretty unforgivable.

Oh well, at least I'm better at computer science than I am at Biology

Except for monotremes skipping the live young part.

... unless they've been kicked out of mammalia when I wasn't paying attention.

Mmmmm... time for a tall, cold glass of platypus milk.

No I wouldn't. Apart from the fact that I never try new foods/drinks anyway, whale milk is just too weird.

Yes but you try getting human milk? Most producers get all "My breastmilk is for my precious screaming hellspawn not for your coffee".

And there's nothing like running out of milk on a day where you really can't be arsed going outside to make you wish you could lactate at will... Or maybe that's just me.

My point was that when offered human breast milk most people will say something along the lines of 'Urgh no, that's sick, don't be so sick', whereas they will happily guzzle dairy milk until the cows come home (hurr hurr). Makes no sense to me.

I'm not saying we should all be drinking human milk instead, fuck that (I can't imagine humans putting up with having their babies taken from them and their breasts hooked up to machines all day long pumping endless gallons of milk). I just think it's odd that people don't realise how bizarre it is that we are more comfortable drinking cow milk than human milk. You get me? :p

Who's "we", white man? :p
Or woman, considering I'm a woman. Sorry if I'm generalising and using Western 'norms' at the exclusion of other cultures, but anyway... stop sidestepping my point, fool ; )

Anyway, I think it is normal in most cultures for the majority of milk consumed by adults to come from some sort of farmed animal, never mind whether you're from a Western culture or not. Even nomadic tribes take their cattle with them wherever they roam.

The only ones that come to mind that don't make use of farmed animals' milk are hunter-gatherer tribes such as those in the rainforest. They are few and far between these days - correct me if I'm wrong. And I think I can be excused for assuming that those particular people will not be taking part in this poll. Hence 'we'.
