It wouldn't be the only cause of me moving from the U.S. I'm sick of living in this corportocracy as it is.

Take away my video games, that's just the last fuck you. I'd stay for a little while, fighting as hard as possible. If it was to no avail, I would flee the impending police state. If they outlaw gaming, music is probably next for severe censorship at least, and that's my next biggest hobby. Make a pattern of killing fun, and I'm getting the fuck out.
There is a cool little clause in the constitution that says as U.S.citizens we can break unjust laws. So you can still play video games and music, even if the goverment says no. Besides the Supreme Court said last year that video games were under the first amendment so no need to worry.

Nations, boundries and flags mean less to me then my own entertainment and privilages, I won't give them up.

Be it by moving, sabotaging the state that enforces such laws (by breaking them or feed other to do so, or perhaps more extrememe "cripple the nation from within" acts if need be) or any other path I may take.

I stand for me and those for whom I personally care for, not pseudo-idealistic nonsense like "A nation where all must stand united, like it or not".

Down here in Greece gaming was banned for about 6 years with the infamous law 3037/2002. Back then, a member of the greek parliament was caught by an "investigative" journalist on tape playing one-arm bandits. So, the wise Greek government (the same guys that drove us to bankruptcy and the IMF) decided that ALL games played on an electronic machine were illegal. This ingenious law banned Windows, consoles, cell phones and all pcs, including their own pcs.

The EU fined Greece heavily for stopping trade and for banning a legal EU produce. In general, a big mess...again. Some internet cafes were closed and their pcs confiscated. All gaming magazines in Greece had covers that said "Yes, we are all illegal" and there where some protests, but after a while, the police just stopped punishing transgressors and the insanity just faded away.

So, i guess my answer is "I'd stay" but i hear Canada is really nice this time of year...

Hell yah I'd move. Also, if they'd ban gaming I'm going to assume that other rights have been taken away, so I'd move for that

I live in Canada so I doubt this will happen anytime soon but if it did, I would run, run as far as I can and never return! Maybe to the UK as I despise the US and if Canada banned video games, you can bet that the US wouldn't be far behind. Also maybe France because I'm French.

No I think realistically just find a replacement hobby. Although if gaming is banned the country is probably fucked up in more ways than one, so if it was lots of things I'd be outta there.

Gaming isn't that important too me, I can quite easily just pursue my other hobbies instead.

Besides a complete ban would be impossible to enforce, it'd probably just stop the purchase of new games. I have enough unfinished games to keep me going for years :p

If they were to outright ban games, or heck, ban certain rated games I'd leave on princible that they were looking at me and saying "No, you clearly can't be trusted and neither can anyone else who plays games."

I'd probably move to one of the Commonwealth like Canada as I'm rather sure they have better, more liberal policies though I may be wrong.

Assuming everything else stayed the same, no. Gaming isn't that important. Though I would be taking a lot of trips to Canada.

Moving for me is as regular as my heartbeat. If gaming was banned I would definitely move again.

First off this is Murica, best country on gawds green earf. [the bible says so, read it] If the U.S. guvment decides gaming is bad then you cant game, pure and simple. My grandpappy didnt fight the Nazis and Commies so you could protest our guvments actions. Ya'll folks just be glad this aint my Grandpappys day because i would have the right to shoot you all on the ground that ya'll was commies. Wanting to leave the country, are you kidding. THis is Murica, MURICA boi the unieted states of Murica. we beat hitler and the commies.
Dear God sir, you are...Awesome. I want to come to your house and do unspeakale things.

Also, would I move? I might very well do if I could, I hate the Goverment deciding what I thinks best, and especially blocking my ability to enjoy a simple product.

Na. Planning on moving from the UK to New Zealand anyway once I get my Geology degree. The UK is going to the dogs -__- latest news is that 90% of the work being made in the past 10-15 years has gone to non-brits...no wonder we can't get a bloody job here! (That and I live in the king of all blackspots for unemployment in the UK). So the UK government can do what it likes, but I'm leaving ASAP. Even if it isn't New Zealand, I have family in Australia and America.

Gaming is part of my life and if i want to start writing stories I'd have to move with the industry. But luckily the 1st amendment protects gaming in the USA now woooo.

"Would you defect to another country if gaming was banned/outlawed"

Is defect the right term to use?

How about "move" or "change residence"? It's not the cold war anymore

So... non-brits are dogs? Good to see good ol' nationalism still lingering about in the 21st century...
