Well, since banning games would signal that the government is longer going to use/acknowledge the tenents of the 1st amendment, I would seriously consider driving the ~80-100 miles or so to Canada, and living there for the rest of my life.

I would move, its my main form of entertainment and really if this is happening, I'd be pissed not only for that but for not upholding the rights we have as a country.

Either that or keep doing it. It would be cool, like drug dealers but with games.

"Hey you got the stuff?"

"Yeah here, this right here, this stuff is great, they call it Halo. It was huge when video games were still around."

I'd move without question: Not because I wouldn't be able to play any games, but because any country that would enforce that sort of policy would obviously have much deeper problems at heart.

Consider this: If that country were the United States, it would mean that protection for my rights under the Constitution would no longer exist. We'd have much deeper problems than not being able to legally play Left 4 Dead.

I'd stay. Because if alcohol can be legalized after fourteen years of being banned, so can video games.
Do you really want to wait 14 years?

"I'd rather die on my feet then live on my knees."

Netherlands here, I don't see this happening anytime soon anywhere in the world (oh wait, Somalia!)
I would either leave or start a revolution. Preferably a revolution, I don't like running away from problems.

Completly ban video games? There would be riots, endless riots. Not just form gamers (and there would be a lot of us causing chaos) but from others opposing such a ban on the basis of defending ideals of freedom. Even laws that push towards a ban on games or otherwise infringe significantly on our glorious passtime would be met with rage, and it would only take a little bit of organisation to start protests.

Speaking as a New Zealander, I wouldn't come anytime soon, our Government has no money.
In Australia our government wastes money on short term solutions to long term problems (both major political partys) At least New Zealand seems like a good place to go one youve built up money elsewhere, in Sydney people are slaving away their entire lives to pay off impossible housing costs. There should be more to life than paying debts.
That's not the point the damn thread.
Yes, I would move to the United States.

Well I live in Denmark, I hate the political scene here and bullying accounts for most of my experience with 'proper' danes, so I'd move across Øresund as soon as I had finished my education here. (Education and healthcare is free here so best milk the system before leaving)

Move out of the country for video games? No. I love games, but not that much. Rioting is more fun anyway.

I'd leave, not because I'd miss gaming so much, although my friends and I would need to find something else to do with 30% of our time, but because that seems pretty facist.

I'd stay and play, maybe even help others to keep gaming too.

The first rule of Game Club is that you don't talk about Game Club :p

I'd have to say that's an impossibility in the foreseeable future, at least in the States. Especially considering we just recently accepted games as art. Unless some totalitarian government takes over and bans art, that just doesn't make sense. Besides, video games keep people preoccupied. Seems like a good thing for the Government to not get overthrown.

I live in Canada so I doubt this will happen anytime soon but if it did, I would run, run as far as I can and never return! Maybe to the UK as I despise the US and if Canada banned video games, you can bet that the US wouldn't be far behind. Also maybe France because I'm French.

I'd go to Canada, its not that far of a drive, they have Olympics now and most speak English, its like going to a slightly lessened different named USA.
What do you mean by lessened?
Its name is not as big as United States of America, now is it?

No. To be honest, I like this hobby, but Im probably not gonna uproot my life over an inability to play it.

Also dont have the money for that. So unless I'm far more wealthy in this hypothetical, I couldn't even consider it. I don't know how long my gaming hobby will even last in my life as the more and more I grow up and what responsibilities are in store for me.

In my country, some games are banned whereas other games aren't e.g. everything from Rockstar is banned. They could make My Little Pony- The Game and it would be banned. I think most people here would get it off the video game black market that would inevitably come into existence.

Red Dead Redemption is a good game :)

I'd move, but only because if that happened there are obviously much bigger, more important things going on than just banning games. I.e. banning games would be a symptom of a much bigger problem, and that i would have to escape.

What?? No! Is there really people who find gaming to be more important than their family, country, everybody they know, their jobs, and their homes? Thats ridiculous. Its a hobby. Not that important to me

They also have better gun laws than here.
Gaming and guns...... I'm happy.

You're welcome.

OT: I'd find a way around it. Dubai bans a ton of games, it doesn't stop me from finding loopholes in the system and getting them anyway.
