But yes, I would fight off an invading force. I seriously doubt Germany would fight us, but someone like Russia, China, or North Korea might get into the spirit of things. Not sure about the branch, though. My grandpa was in the Navy Seabees from 47-77, so that has a pull, but it all comes down to where I feel my need is put. Or can get in. Not sure what weight requirements would be. Especially since I'm what you might consider "scrawny as hell."

I wouldn't join the army, but if the country was invaded, there would probably more guerrilla groups than actual army. I would join them. It wouldn't be easier, but it would make more sense. People like that know their area more than any army, be it friendly or enemy. And would use it to the best of their ability.

Well depends who attacks really, if its a country with a huge army then I'm just gonna go find somewhere to hide unless I thought I could do something actually useful. However being in the UK there would be no guns to defend myself or to attack with so either I'd have to make some wierd weapon which would no doubt either break or backfire and kill me I would have to use household objects and the most damaging weapons I can think of that I have a the kitchen knives and a bowling pin, soooo yeah don't think that would get me far.
However if someone gave me a good weapon and a little time to train on it then yes, I would try and fight back, probably in a more guerilla way than just charging in there as I would rather not die. Also if they went through the main town where I am then I can think of a couple of good hiding spots to shoot from and ways to get there.

Fuck yes! Anyone invading is not going to be doing so in order to bring us tea, biscuits and furnish each household with a cute ickle puppy and a suitcase full of money! They're gonna be doing some wholesale nasty-things to the general population and so the general population had best break out the broken-bottles, picthforks and broom handles. Farmers are allowed to have shotguns but your average Joe is not - that said, I know someone in the local gun club so I'd go round to his house pronto!

Britain might have been left in an utter shambles by the Labour Party but I'd fight to defend it, no question!

Depends one why my county was invaded, we might be causing some serious trouble and deserve it. That and our wildlife will do far more to stop an invasion that I probably could(Now try and guess what oceanic country I'm from. ).

However regardless of whether I'd fight to protect my country, I would like to fight to protect its people.

I'm scottish from a military family.... i don't think i have a choice there is probably just a button somewhere that makes me go "WHOOOOO FIGHT" but in all honesty i would rather die screaming defiance and spitting in the face of the enemy than in my bed old and alone or beaten by the secret police, sounds far too boring a way to go

I quite like being British but could deal with being "liberated" by the Dutch, Canadians, Spanish... Any liberal country which it wouldn't be a massive insult to national pride to be invaded by. (like, for instance, the French or Italians)

It's been so long since we've been invaded properly that it might make a nice change.

If the French try that shit I'll take to the streets and give them some old school guerilla warfare.
