Poll: Would you kill your best friend to save yourself?

I'm going to copy/paste my response from a similar thread:
I will not kill my friend. In fact, this gives me the moral imperative to hunt down the terrorists that forced this decision on me. Once captured, they will live on an isolated island resort. They will have a lavish meal of their choice once a day. And at a time of my choosing, I will escort their families into a room with a one-way mirror, and the terrorist will watch his family be pampered for the day with the luxuries of the West. Then I will break one of his bones.
It will be a different bone every day, each bone allowed to heal until all the rest are broken. Then the cycle starts over. After each break session, the terrorist will be dressed in an Armani suit, designer shoes, and soft leather gloves, to hide the breaks. Only his spine and head will remain unbroken. He will then get to converse with his family through a two-way glass partition. His family will see that his room is equipped with the finest amenities and the most luxurious food. They will see him living a decadent Western life.
The room he is kept in is sound-proofed. His family cannot normally see inside, aside from the two-way partition, but he can see them quite clearly as his children enjoy console games and his wife enjoys women's magazines..all the "evil capitalist influences" of the West. The bone breaking will be done approximately 4 to 5 hours after he falls asleep. If he attempts to tell his family about the torture being inflicted upon him, his fellow conspirators will be executed, with full knowledge of who decided to tattle tale.
Their families will be informed that their loved one mysteriously chose to kill themselves, rather than live in luxury. They will be puzzled and alarmed at the extent of their extremism, and their sons and daughters will not follow in their footsteps. Instead, they will willingly choose to assimilate into American culture, because they have experienced our way of life.

If that were the case, you would have to decide based different factors. Like if only one of you has a job (lets say you have the job), would your lover be able to find a job of his/her own? If that takes to long, how long will your saving last? If yo have kids, who would be better at taking care of them? There are probably more things to think about that I can't think of right now.Eldarion said:

Fear is felt by the weak, therefore I do not feel it. Allowing someone else to die so that I could live would compromise my honor, therefore it is an impossibility. A life sacrificed to save others is a life without regret, and a life without regret leads to a good death.
Well, I'd probably kill the friend, since from that scenario, I'd expect the prisoner to kill the friend after :/
Anyways, I never really get too close to anyone so that's a plus for me
And yes, I know that it IS very selfish, but I can't help but think that most people will act differently if they were ACTUALLY in the situation.

I would, if anyone in my group of friends are gonna go anywhere are me... the rest will probably end up as heroine addicts and prostitutes...
