If you had the opportunity to explore the Universe would you? Or would you stay on Earth? Bare in mind, leaving Earth means leaving your family and friends.

The area of space that I could explore in my lifetime would be a blank void of absolute nothing.

So no.

What does that mean, 'explore universe'? Do you mean observable space? Because you can explore the universe here on Earth. Hell, you do it every day. I suppose you meant explore outer space, which would be VERY boring/long with current technological capabilities.

Who the FUCK would want to stay here?
That is exactly what I am wondering.
I'm wondering why anyone would want to leave. You wouldn't be able to get anywhere interesting, besides maybe some of the planets in our solar system. But I'm sure the novelty of being on another planet would wear off when you realize that every planet we know of is fucking terrible compared to Earth.

Stay. Space is really big and not much out there relatively. Here, I have family, food, and a comfy chair with a computer for entertainment.

Well depends, do we get to explore space for as long as we want, and with advanced ships that could get us places faster?

Or do we explore it for the length of our natural lives with what technology we currently have at our disposal?

In case of it being the first one, I'd totally leave and explore the universe, if it were option two however, I'd probably just say f*ck it and stay on Earth, as I wouldn't see much at all.

Well considering that I said "Or would you stay on Earth?", I thought it would be obvious that you wouldn't be staying on Earth to explore the Universe. I'm not being completely literal, the means by which you leave Earth are upto you, no matter of todays lack of a way to travel into the Universe for any great length.

He didn't put stipulations on the level of technology you'd be able to use. I'm assuming that postulating the question implies we'd be able to break a few rules of physics and actually be able to explore it as fast as we wanted.
