-an interesting point-
I think you're just trying to bend the question. I've never really been into that sort of thing, so i'm not very good about it.

How bout this...

Suppose you find an alien ship that has a "Universe Tour guide" button that would take you around the know universe showing you beautiful and miraculous things quickstatus. But the flight would last longer than your lifetime with no chance of return? Would you leave all human contact behind to see the wonders of the universe? Or would you stay here and try your hand at finding love, companionship, and family?

I know its sort of a long winded question but it gets the dilemma across without leaving loopholes. ( i think )
If I found such a ship, I would immediately hand it over to the government, who would have a chance at replicating the technology found inside. Then such technology could massively boost our space program. Then I could live a satisfying life feeling that I had accomplished something, even if I did only find the ship.

So no, as I'd much rather live a satisfying life than one in which I drift through the void of space alone.
You are an Internet Kraken. I give up, and summon a level 99 "a wizard did it". The ship will leave in 10 seconds on its tour. You don't have time or the ability to hit its engines with a wrench. You don't have a computer interface to upload a virus with. You don't have Cortana. It doesn't have an ignition key. The fuel source is behind a bulkhead you can't get to. And it will kill you out of spite for trying to find a loophole in the question.
No

I'd probably imagine I was hallucinating If such an absurd scenario occurred, leading to me ignoring the whole thing. If I did get on the ship, I would go crazy from having no one to talk to. Even if I could talk to the wizard, I doubt I would want to. If the wizard has all these incredible powers yet refuses to use them to better the world, than he's probably a huge asshole that just wants to fuck with me. So going on the ship would lead to me becoming an insane old man that dies of old age while a wizard laughs at my misfortune.

That doesn't sound like fun.

If you mean "Exploring Space" like using some hyperspace thing, that allows you to at least reach some intelligent life, then yes.

But if it meant floating about in the void, then no.

Unless it means involved floating through the void with a stylish cat, a neurotic hologram, a scouse bloke and a tidy android...then yes, yes I would. I mean, who wouldn't want to go travelling round the universe with these two guys?

By the way, I own that puppet, he's hilarious

If its like me and 5 to 6 other people, then yes, but if its like 100,000,000+ people, then I'll stay here. Well it also depends on the overall gender ratio, cause it wouldn't be any fun to explore the universe without also exploring a relationship with a woman.

Stay here and sit on my ass, bored as fuck, or travel the stars and go where no man has gone before. That is a really hard choice there.

explore the Goddamn universe!... damnit!
There is no way that I would pass up on that chance. It is something that I have wanted to do since I was a kid. And yes, I would be leaving my family behind for a time, and things could go wrong or something could happen while I was away... but I can't make decisions based on what MIGHT happen

Depends on our form of travel. We have a slow as space ship, no. We get something that goes through slip space (or whatever, or is just bitchin' fast) then yes. Mainly because I have about 5 friends, who are barely friends, and my family would most likely understand, minus the whole being not even old enough to watch an R rated movie (in theaters, I watch them otherwise).

Interesting question. But you should add a few restrictions and things to it. Like, can I come back to earth every once and a while? Do I get to take anyone with me? How exactly am I exploring the universe.

I probably would stay here, unless I could take one person with me. Kind of like Dr. Who and his companions.

You remind me of the Earth folk in Blade Runner. All boring, all void of emotion and souless. Just living their lives with no thrills. While 4 robots try to live their lives to the fullest without looking at the risks.

You are a boring person.

Anyway!

On topic...yes, yes I would. There might be dragons outthere.

I'm getting the hell off this planet. Nothing interesting here besides my 360, Wii, and laptop. Do we have internet in space?
