Wait... let me get this straight, 1/3 of people answered "Stay here?" Really? Even if the question was "Burger King where you live or Burger King somewhere else?" I'd go somewhere else. "Here" is the single most boring place any one of us could ever be. We've already been there, done that.

Assuming, of course, that I would be able to survive?

Explore. In a heartbeat. While I do have many things I am attached to here on earth, many people that I love, and many things I would like to do, that's not something you can just pass on.

For the rest of your life, you would wonder what could have been.

I have done things that terrified me (ex: para sailing. I am scared of heights. Extremely scared.) because I didn't want to wonder what it would have been like.

The adventure would be too great for me to pass up on.

If we were advanced enough technologically, hell yeah. Explore til my arms fall off. Explore FTW!

it's a tough choice, traverse the dark void of space until I starve to death, or stay here. Hmmmmm, this place sucks but it has prarie dogs (which rock mega hard).

Do I get a hyperdrive? Is it populated? Will I be able to speak to them? Will I be alone? Do I get a robot? Is it dangerous?
So many questions before I can answer.

I would preferebly get the hell off this rock before WWIII, I don't relly like the idea of being in an nuclear winter

Assuming leaving entails floating around in the void for years: I'll stay thanks.

Assuming leaving entails either Stargate-esque instantaneous travel to other planets and/or Star Trek-esque cruising around in an awesome spaceship capable of FTL travel seeking out new life and new civilisations: When do I leave?

You assume that space is filled to the brim with amazing things and fantastic sights. Well it ain't. You could easily spend your entire life floating through space and see nothing but the dark void. Besides, there are incredibly beautiful and amazing places here on Earth.

Besides, this planet sucks.
Considering it's the only planet on which I won't die of asphyxiation, I have to disagree.

How is starving to death in a space ship a preferable fate?

Ah, I can always make new friends (and a new family, wink wink).
Universe, here I come!

Or would, if this was real. Thanks, now I'm sad.

Nah, even if space is totally boring, I'd go check it out. And I'm not afraid of dying. And I find dark voids comforting.

Plus, no matter how much cool stuff there is on earth, I'll need the means ($, transport, passports, bribes to corrupt border patrol agents, etc.) to go see it all. And that doesn't even factor in how much time it would take -- longer than my lifetime. Whereas, to go to space, I assume I get a fully-equipped speed-of-light ship for nothing (that is part of the deal, right? It better be). So I can leave right-the-hell now and go putter around the void for the rest of my life. And then, who knows... even if I find nothing, I'd no more be wasting time out there than I will back here.

I'll call you when OP delivers my spaceship. (Unless you get yours first, in which case you better call me)
