My group of friends were discussing this recently, with different opinions.

Is this good or bad?

Yes...

My sister can look after herself.
And if she suddenly can't... its CLOBBERING TIME!

I'd find it a bit awkward but I'd do nothing since it's not my right to say who my sister can date.

Why should you stop them?
The choice has nothing to do with you (subjective to having a sister).
If your sister (Not specifically your sister, but from the view of having a sister) wants to date someone, you have no say in the matter. It is the participant's choice.
If they want to date, they can date.

Yes but they would take a long walk off a short pier if they did anything wrong.

Well, that makes it all the easier. If he doesn't treat her with respect, I at least know where he'll have his vacation.

Yes but my sister is younger than me, I'm the big brother, I wouldn't be happy about it but it's not my decision.

I dated a friend's younger sister for a few weeks, and he was very anxious about the idea to say the least...

Bottom line, know your friends. And if he/she is dating your sister/brother, don't think that suddenly your friend will turn into a GF-beating/cheating asshole. If he does, he was not really your friend in the first place!

No, all my friends are nerds and geeks. And it would be very awkward...

Yeah sure. My sister can take care of herself, and if he did anything wrong I'd make sure he regretted it ;D

*snerk* Ha, haha, HAHAHAHAHA!!!

...

Ok, so both of my sisters are very 'type A personality' individuals who don't take shit from anyone and are damn well MEAN.

Plus, I'm 22 and they're 32 and 38 respectively while all of my friends are about the same age as me.

I'd love to see my friends try! They'd get fucking eaten alive.
