Most of the other posters beat me to the punch in saying that the OP and the poll have presented a game, said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it, and asked if I would play it.

Take your god-forsaken agenda somewhere other than the Escapist.

Why does it matter? This is one of the many problems with the world today. People worry and focus too much on shit like this. Who fucking cares?! For all we know, half the main characters already out there are gay. We will never know because IT'S NOT IMPORTANT! The main character's sexuality isn't important in 99% of games out there.

Could you really tell?
Unless the developer was a total dick it really wouldn't matter.
Gay people are EXACTLY the same as noprmal people in every aspect but sexuality.
Unless it was a dating sim or whatnot, it would be identical to a normal game.

Except it might have more rainbows ^__^
Thus we are renaming the Ultima Blade in Final Fantasy XIII to the "Purrty-Rainbow Stick".

Seeming that the main character is gay might seem as a main selling point to a game - like saying this game will try and make you KNOW the character is gay.
If that is the main selling point of the game then no. No I would not.

I think it would actually be (controvercial) funny, this could actually make for a good case of humor, and the first time you played as a homosexual in a game it would have to be humorous or otherwise nobody would play it and fox news would butrape it.
That is to say that I don't think anyone who isn't watching gay porn wants to.

Yup, as long as the game was good, and didn't totally revolve around being gay or a lesbian. I mean I don't think "Jimmy Mcjim's fantastic gay adventure" wouldn't be very appealing to me (Sorry to anyone called Jimmy Mcjim) but I wouldn't avoid a game just because the main character wasn't straight.

I wouldn't really mind, unless the primary gameplay mechanic revolved around picking up people (but then, I wouldn't play such a game if it heterosexual characters, either).

If the gameplay was good I guess but I really doubt I would just go and try it because any game like that must be totally gay. What would you do go get make overs and see a ballet.

It makes a difference to the story, and not caring about the story and only caring about gameplay?
Well, I don't know about you, but I think story is pretty important too.

I think story's important too, and I think that's why a gay protagonist could actually be very interesting. It breaks up the monotony from all the space marines out there.

So in case it's not obvious, I'd play a game if the MC were gay.

I hope you don't get claustrophibic in that tiny little mind of yours.
