Guilty Gear, huzzah.
Well, it's never been confirmed that neither Sol nor Ky are gay, but it's been hinted. A LOT.
On the other hand, 3 gay characters and a transvestite is a bit over-the-top (on the other hand, it's Guilty Gear, hell yeah.)
Also... anyone experience the same thing with me? When I play The Sims, and I'm taking care of a female sim, she always turns lesbo in the long run. Seriously.

I wouldn't mind if he/she was gay. I WOULD mind if he/she was an annoying arse, but I would also mind if it was a heterosexual annoying arse.
EDIT: And another thing - If my memory serves me correctly, you could romance Sky with a male character in Jade Empire, so there you go, a gay romance in a critically acclaimed and widely loved RPG game...

About damn time someone in this thread pointed out gay guys have been in fighting games. Since i'm the kind of guy who tends to ignore the main characters and only care about the characters that interest me (never ended a Final Fantasy game with the "main character" in my party, to date), I could play a game with a gay protagonist. Hell, I've played games with idiot neandrethal (Kratos), half-brained thug (Most GTA games), pitiful melodramatic loser (Final Fantasy 8, Squall's a little twit), and honking whack-job (Twisted Metal Games) main and playable characters. Why be bothered about some guy who fancies sleeping with men. I'm comfortable enough with my love of babes to think that gay men just means I've got a few less guys to compete with.Saphatorael said:

I honestly dont think any developer would make a game around a characters sexual orientation, and if that was the part of the story the designers harpped on I'm sure the game would be crap. In alot of games the option to be gay is available (two i can think of off the top of ym head are Fable 2 and Jade Empire) and is more of a device for players to feel like they make a difference in how the storyline develops and create connection to the characters. I definately don't think in either that the demographic is properly portrayed but thats media for you.
I chose other ... The reason for this is that it would annoy me if he was just a token gay or an eccentric gay person.
If him being gay was inkeeping with the story then I wouldn't mind ... I don't really care about their sexuality as long as it doesn't negatively affect the game and it keeps with the story.

i'd only play it if the game itself was good. sexual orientation doesn't bother me; you can do what you like, just please to force it on me, but otherwise we'll have no problems.

Didn't the Spartans have gay soldiers because they would fight harder to protect the people they love (I could be wrong on this tough). Would be really awesome to play a game in which you can control 2 of these soldiers at the same time and make combos etc.
And if you give it a good story playing with (a) gay main character(s) would be something really cool.

It wouldn't change gameplay and it could be an interesting story element under certain circumstances. Regardless of my personal beliefs in my day to day life, I see no problems with the main character being gay in a video game I'm playing. I vote "yes for both."
it wouldn't effect the games story so it wouldn't bother me much, unless they added it into the story just to make a point..............or i was playing "Extreme Gay Porn Maker: Directors Cut" then i'd prob be put off games for a while and be thinking to myself why i bought the game in the first place -_-

In all seriousness, and on-topic, I think that I would play the game even if it sucked. It would have to be funny though, like Hard Gay: the video game. You would have to pelvic thrust your way to victory! We already have Cho Annaki anyway.
It could make for an interesting drama-game though; best suited for a point-and-click adventure. Having a gay character wouldn't be a selling point for me though. Whatever form the game takes, it's going to have to be entertaining.
I wouldn't not play a game because of the main character's sexuality, however a video game of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy or
Perez Hilton: Gossip Warrior wouldn't really be the kind of games I'd play.
Although I think it would be brilliant and hilarious if the next GTA4 DLC had Bernie as the main character. I'd totally play that for a laugh.
