First: Why's the car on fire?
Second: Like someone else said cars don't explode.

Since I'm here I'll answere your question, I would at least try to help him but if things got a little too hectic in some way or other then I would back off.

I think my conscious would bug me if I didn't at least try to get in and help the person instead of watch as others do so.

I don't know what I would do so much to help... but help in any kind of dire situation is helpful

Depends on how bad they are injured, if it's obvious they're fucked either way I'd call 911, however if they don't have shards and car parts sticking out of their body I'd go for it

yeah they can, when one flips over the gas system gets fucked up and its possible for it to spill on the engine, the hot engine, causing it to possibly spontaniosly combust which many people will call an explosion.

I am an Eagle Scout and they say not to make another victim. To hell with that, I would go get them out as fast as my body could carry me.

I voted "yes" based on the basic details. I am not beyond taking a calculated risk in a situation like that. However depending on other aspects of the situation I might not.

I think I would. However if the risk to my own life was very high, I'd have reservations about helping. No point in getting the both of us killed...

What ever gave you that idea?

OT: I think instant reaction would be to help the person. I don't even think in that situation I could think of myself, I'd just do it.
Have you ever watched Mythbusters? They always seem to have a hard time igniting gasoline, and an even harder time trying to get it to explode. It's not like it is in the movies.

I would, because I am a big damn hero and I never go out in winter without my Brown Coat so it would get the firefly fans more publicity, plus doing the right thing is fun.

Oh HELL YES! If it works I get to be a hero and shit! And if not, I can still say to St. Peter that I died trying to save another life! It's win-win! And yes, I have saved a life before (I'm smug!).

In this scenario no. You are actually not supposed to. In these situations the person who moves the victim of a car crash usually adds on to the damage caused by the crash which results in the victim actually suing you (I'm dead serious), in most cases Good Samaritan Laws (USA) are strong enough to protect you, but it's much safer to call 911.

In other situations my answer may have been yes.

In this scenario?

It's actually difficult to tell. I'm pretty sure cars don't explode, and trying to pull the victim out has a big chance to damage them more - as squicky as it may sound, car crash victims' bodies are often entangled with various parts of the car and pulling them out forcibly can cause anything from breaking some bones to unplugging a serious wound and risking fatal blood loss. Not to mention that they probably have already suffered massive internal damage and are therefore all the more fragile.

The logical thing to do would be calling 911 and staying on guard.

But people don't act logically under stress, and I think I would actually rush in and try to pull them out if faced with such a situation.

No.

I don't know who this person is.

I don't know who they are, what they have done.

I have no reason to save them, just as they have no reason to save me.

I don't really value my life very high above others, so yeah. And if I were to survive, and the driver were female, attractive, and not a moron, I think you know who's getting a reward.
