I would press "yes". Same reason i would press "yes" when asked; "Would you like to destroy the world right now?". It's the thrill!!!! wooo

Yes, because fuck Facebook for all their privacy-rights violations.
And while they may have done a small bit of good, it is outweighed by their evil.

No, I wouldn't shut down Facebook. There is no reason to. At all. It's a social networking site. So, every reason people give as to why they don't like it, are just apart of its job description.

I have no problem with people who spend their time on Facebook; each to their own and all that, so I wouldn't turn it off forever. However. I would just out of curiosity, just to see what kind of effect it'd have on society. Leave it off for like a week before letting people back on again.

I would rather not have facebook pervading our society as it has but worse even still is shutting it down because it annoys the fuck out of me.

No, don't shut it down because you are putting every website on the planet on the same slippery slope. Just try and get people to stop being fucking lemmings and live their lives without it.

A Hermit's Cave
Can't really answer.

No: well, because I use it and it's a good way to make sure the folks are OK (read your fucking e-mails, big sis!)
Yes: the concept of having friends on there is crap anyway... just how many of your 500 friends do you honestly communicate with on a regular basis, huh?! I have 150, and only converse with about 40-50 of them.

But, even if it was shut down, some whip-smart fucker is going to start a new social networking site and in six months' time everyone will be raving about it and going 'Facewhat?'

Yes. But I would also like to destroy all the physical data servers with a sledgehammer while I'm at it.

Shutting down Facebook would put a lot of people out of jobs, so that's just douchery. But aside from that, it helps me to easily keep in touch with my family on the other side of the country, my high school friend stationed in Iraq, and my childhood friend who moved to Holland. So it stays.

The answer is "no". Facebook keeps a lot of people employed.
You know who else kept a lot of people employed? The Nazis.

(Not that I am saying the two are any way similar, I just thought it fit perfectly and is stereotypical of an internet comment on something popular)

I wouldn't shut it down, however...

There should be a mandatory test of general intelligence for anyone allowed to create an account.

Also, if you post six statuses in a row that are just lyrics from a shitty song with a <3 after them, YOUR ACCOUNT AND IP WILL BE PERMANENTLY BANNED, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Depends on if you think that increased communication is a bad thing. I don't, so "no"

I wouldn't... Because a pop-up window showing up like that is more likely to shut down my computer...

If I knew it would work, no. If not, then I would probably hit yes thinking it is a joke and then realize what I have done at a later time. Man, a lot of people at my school would be pissed.
Who said it would actually work?

I would probably do exactly the same. Whether or not it would actually happen is another thing.
This reminds me of how most American's probably vote.

I personally said yes, mostly because I think that's the only way I could delete my account without my relatives bugging the hell out of me about it.
