I'd rather be a werewolf myself but if I had the opportunity I'd take it, I wouldn't even pretend to be one of the nice vampires we normally see these days that seem to like solving crime a lot too. I'd be a walking revenant, sucking the blood of my victims when hungry and maybe snapping a few necks when I'm not. Either that or become a predator that only stalks the toughest prey just like those yellow blooded fellows :) Oh, and I'd move to New Orleans too just for stereotypes sake heh.

I think I'd like to retain my humanity, despite all the perks of vampirism I think I'd begin to miss sunlight and people I knew after a while.

Of course I would. Then I'd probably go black market and sell transformation to different leaders and dictators, make myself rich enough and retire to a nice third world nation where law is so crappy that a murder every few days for sustenance won't be an issue.

Honest-to-God? I'd excuse myself to think about it for a moment, as as soon as I'm out of the room, I'd call the cops, reach for the 12-gauge and the oak stake, and make the mo-fo get down on his knees. Why? Because after reading your post, the first thing I thought was "serial rapist".
The way I see it, if it's a regular guy trying to slip me some roofies (like I think it is), I'm putting a criminal behind bars; and if it actually is a vampire, I'll put it in the ground for the good of mankind (and possibly in the name of Christ if he doesn't like vampires). Call me racist, but I kind of enjoy being human and not having to kill people on a daily basis.

On the plus side, according to H.T. Black's law of relative fantastic causality, if I was a vampire, being in the sun would light me on fire without actually killing me. And flaming vampire man sounds kind of awesome, if I may say so.

"Sorry, I think I'll wait until someone else comes along with an offer of immortality that doesn't involve me spontaneously combusting."

I also want the full bat/wolf/dust shapeshifting, command of nocturnal creatures, and the ability to slip through narrow spaces. No way am I settling for watered down vampire powers.

I was born a human and I'll die a human. No vampire crap for me. Immortality is overrated.

Well, I prefer staying inside and with no sun shining into my room. That's about it, really.

I'd be the cool kind that live in castles, have accents, and can be hurt by crosses, garlic, sunlight, and possibly silver.
I'd be bringing back the classic vampire archtype, something that only Stephen King and Anne Rice have ever been able to bring into the modern age well.

Yeah, the Joss thing is right, he made Buffy. Yeah, Buffyverse vamps don't age, but if they live a fuckton of centuries they start to... change. They start to look much more demonic.
Actually it was never explicitly stated how the appearance of vampires changes in canon, and it was largely up to the discretion of the makeup team. The baddies in both Buffy and Angel became more human-y towards the end of their run because of budget constraints IIRC.
