I fully support the change, at least as much as I can when I don't actually play the game. A few months back, I was invited to play the game with friends, and while I have been duped into playing wow on a number of occasions It never really stuck. Somehow, this time around the moons aligned and somehow I actually managed to enjoy myself just enough that I was able to grind my way through as a rogue and finally got to the end game content where everyone else was.
Now, an interesting thing to point out is, according to my in game stat tracking things it took me 8 days played over the course of months to get to the end of the game. For the vast majority of that time I was playing this single player by myself - something that strikes me as more than a little silly. For a player in such a position, that entire run from 1 - 58 is such a terrible grind that you have to do more or less ALONE that anything that can be done to reduce the amount of time one spends doing it is fine with me. Mounts are no more a status symbol than having a purple piece of gear on your level 80 is. Even I have a few pieces and I literally only ran two instances in the end game before the very group of people who begged and pleaded for me to play quit the game - which was a shame because I was actually still enjoying myself more than I think was right. I'd probably still play if I had the incentive of friends playing the game, but as it stands I started playing LOTRO to fill my MMO habit and I suppose that's enough.
