Let's forget for a moment about all the restrictions and features the Xbox One has. Forget all about the terrible things Microsoft put into that... thing. Also for the PS4 as well. Forget all about those features for the PS4 as well.

Now think about each consoles exclusives. Which console do you think has the best lineup of launch exclusives?

For me, the Xbox had the best. And that's why, for me, the Xbox One is worse than I originally thought. It is completely evil. Not wholly because of the restrictive DRM in the console but because it's holding those great games for ransom. Buying the Xbox One is like willingly going into an abusive relationship with someone because you can't resist how sexy they looked. I touched on this in the last thread I made.

I personally haven't seen anything that's made me super sad/upset, but I know..I know they'll be something.
Maybe the new Dragons Dogma....

...oh god that hurts. ;-;

But yeah I'm fully expecting the Xbox One to get exclusivity on most of the big franchises. Publishers are going to love the console, and they will be much more willing to go with a console that gives them so many benefits.

I'm bracing myself for the worst, cause I know it's pretty much coming.

Well Xbone had Killer Instinct so it wins the exclusives despite the fact it looks mediocre and is being developed by a company with a track record in poor games (double helix).

Neither have exclusives that would make me buy their console and the Xbox has exclusive features that make sure I will never buy it.

As far as I know, Xbox One has Dead Rising 3, Killer Instinct, Forza 5, Titanfall and (I think) some EA Sports titles. The PS4's got Drive Club, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, Infamous: Second Son and The Witness. The PS4 also has better indie support by the looks of it, plus console versions of F2P shooters like Blacklight: Retribution, Warframe and Planetside 2. I'm probably missing something for both platforms.

Dead Rising and Titanfall do look good but Titanfall is coming to PC as well (so's The Witness), and I'm hoping Dead Rising makes it to the PS4 eventually. Dead Rising's still not enough to buy that absolute joke of a console.

I much preferred what the PS4 showed. The only Xbone games I liked the look of at the MS conference were MGSV, The Witcher 3 (sorta, I liked the other two but didn't think they were incredible) and Titanfall looked kind of OK. All of these games are available on other formats.

There wasn't a single exclusive that made me go "I need that NOW". Most of the games that got that reaction from me were multiplatform, the only exception being Final Fantasy XV. In fact a lot of the games from Microsoft's conference that I liked (Witcher 3, Battlefront, Titanfall, Dark Souls 2, Phantom Pain) are not even exclusive to the platform as they will be available on either PS4 or PC as well.

Sony didn't show a lot, but they have enough.
Deep Down is one I was expecting to be shown, but I assume that gameplay is coming very soon.
The Order 1866 is very nice, and aside from TitanFall (DESPERATELY bad move by respawn to make it an exclusive) XBone havn't got the upperhand in a single department. And even then, Destiny is much more up my street to be honest. What Microsoft have done with Killer Instinct is a joke, way to fuck up expectations...

You couldn't just make a standard fucking new addition , like Sony have done with Kingdom Hearts 3? The fans asked, and sony listened, MS on the other hand seem to be not listening one bit. Shame, they're so financially stable that they could actually afford to dedicate a lot of this gen to making gaming better for gamers, instead...meh. What are the point of next gen exclusives on inferior hardware? With the ease in which the PS4 can now be developed for now we gamers can know for CERTAIN, which companies (respawn) are selling out, and which companies are genuinely in this industry for the love of the art.

I didn't much care for either side on exclusives, but I'd throw my vote to the Xbone. Then again, there still might be exclusives both sides are waiting to unveil.

Edit: Actually, I don't know. Didn't care much about either exclusives, so I guess both failed to capture my attention. Except Watch Dog. Fucking want that.

Btw, Sony wasted no time with the advertising, did they? *looks around the site* At least their little ad box on the bottom isn't busted like the last one.

I would like to add to this that Killer Instinct is free, however you only obtain the one character. For additional characters you must pay separately, since apparently:

"Fighting games are big and expensive and they can be complicated. It's very hard to get good at a number of characters. You generally gravitate towards one or two or three or four at the most.

"We want players to be able to experience the game that way. Just buy the characters you want or buy them all and we'll give you a discount on that."
So yeah, you can't try these characters until you buy them, but you don't know what you want to buy until you play with them for a few days...
Thanks to this business model, i'll cast my vote elsewhere. Sony's conference wasn't very good, but the last half an hour smashed Xbox across the board. I'll happily sit on those game exclusives as well as content exclusives.

The only exclusive that me kinda curious was The Second Son. I was never interested in Infamous series, but Troy Baker's performance was awesome and whole idea of a hero who enjoys his super hero powers like a little child really clicks with me.

Wait, I still need some clarification: Is MGSV exclusive to Xbone, or is this an example of the (confirmed, as far as I know) rumour that Microsoft paid off developers to show some multiplatform games only for their console at E3?

I absolutely can't see Konami giving Sony the shaft after their consoles made MGS a household name.

Same goes for Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive, they can't really be throwing two fingers up at Sony after such a long track record of exclusives, can they?

Either way though, Kingdom Hearts III is on PS4, so if I was planning to get either of the consoles (I'm not) then it'd be the PS4.

I think that the XBone had the better exclusive games at the show, but that doesn't really mean much when everybody hates your console, and a lot of people will be buying the PS4 because of Microsoft's anti-consumer, pro-publisher attitude.

PS4 for me. I'm interested in The Order even if there wasn't any gameplay. They also had that game Rain which looked kind of mysterious. They also got the new Infamous that looks fun. And they showed a few devs gushing over how easy it is to develop for and how Sony is going to be doing more for indi developers. TitanFall looked pretty sweet, I can't lie, but its also coming to pc

Lol wut? Are they high? They're acting like they're doing us a favor or something by withholding content. I must have hallucinated all the fighting games I played with balanced characters and the last 7 years of console updates to games

Edit: I realized my last sentence didn't make a lot sense. I'm referring to their idea that its too complicated to make a fighting game

No MGS V is not an Xbone exclusive. Major Nelson got on his twitter and confirmed that after the show, apparently he 'forgot' to mention it at an earlier date.

I'm undecided due to neither Microsoft nor Sony really defining what they mean by "exclusive"

Microsoft said they'll have 15 exclusives

Sony said they'll have 20 in the first year

Do "console exclusives" count, meaning games that appear on one console and PC? If not, then I say there are titles on both consoles still left unannounced

Thanks for the clarification, any word on Sunset Overdrive, though? That was the only Xbone game I was actually interested in, (I prefer to just watch Let's Plays of the MGS games.)

Unfortunately I haven't heard anything about Sunset Overdrive, I doubt it is though, doesn't the dev team have a good run with Sony? I doubt they'll cut them out of the deal.
