he can seem abit harsh
Harsh is generally the point. One, it's not really ZP unless he completely trashes a game (even one he liked, such as Bioshock). Only two reviews were wholly positive (Portal, though granted it was part of the Orange Box review) and Psychonauts (well, he's in love with Tim Schafer... actually, maybe not after Brutal Legend - sorry about no umlaut).
Two, no other reviewer really gets down to what's genuinely bad about some good games. As crappy as that sounds, case in point: the Witcher, considered one of the best RPG's of the decade (quite why I don't know), he hit the nail right on the head (waaaaaaaaaaaay too long, MMORPG combat style and endless FedExing). Still a good game, just not that good.

Anyway, my opinion: dropped off slightly in 2009, early 2010 picked up again but wasn't that good until the final quarter. 2008 reviews were the best (Prototype vs Infamous being my fav).

The original charm and hilarity has worn off, but I still watch and enjoy pretty much every episode.

He had a bit of a rough patch like a year ago where he got a bit stale, but he's better now. Still quite funny, in my opinion.

The day I stopped seeing him as an actual critic was the day I got back to being entertained by his musings.
Yahtzee is a critic though, so much of a critic that 90% of any video of his is criticism

OT: I dont think ive ever been dissapointed by his videos, maybe i just find his accent funny to listen to
Yea but he isn't really a fair critic, he gained popularity by being snide, narcissistic, pompous and funny. So that's what most of his videos contain, have you not noticed that he will almost always have 75% or more of the review about the bad parts of the game and making everyone laugh from it. Often what he dislikes is the company or the console, especially in his reviews about games specifically on the Wii. All I can say is that he is very funny, and he is certainly a traditionalistic gamer.

I always tune into his videos, rarely looking for advice on a game but more because I like to laugh or like to be entertained. Sometimes when i'm bored I watch one of his older reviews.

I find Yahtzee entertaining. I rarely (if ever) agree with his reviews, but his videos always make me laugh, even if just a little bit.

I still tune in every wednesday, and I still walk away entertained, so yeah I still enjoy ZP.
Same here, and I still love his blackadder-like analogies of stuff. Me and him also have very similar tastes, so that could also be the reason why I still like and agree with his ZP's and EP's.
What these people said.
I find that hes more actually reviewing games now, as oppose to talking about them, and is just blending his own sarcastic humor into it as he goes

I've watched his reviews almost since he started, and while I don't find it as amusing as I used to, it's still something I look forward to every week.

He is hilarious and does make good valid points

but god I get sick of the negativity somtimes.....like seriously dose every game you play have to be crap? but I understand its for entertainment perposes, plus if you played that many games you'd really be holding out for somthing new once in a while

so I try to avoid videos on games I like or have

I watch the new Zero Punctuations every Wednesday without fail. He's been a bit hit-and-miss lately, but I still laugh and he's still making the effort. What's not to love?

I love the show but i'm always wary of spoilers so I always make sure to play a game I want to play that he's reviewing before I watch the zp on it.

Halo reach for example. I know its not that hard to think of but thanks for ruining the tension there Yahtzee!

It's not like I walk away from every Zero Punctuation video laughing my ass off, but I still am entertained by Yahtzee. So, yes; I like Zero Punctuation.

Quite recently I watched the entire back catalogue across a few days, and while there were some hilarious moments in earlier episodes, they have gotten funnier as they go on.

However, they have gotten a little less informative of the actual game and what's in them. In the old days he used to hash the plots and characters out in a little detail, and make jokes off that, nowadays he makes jokes and then fits in story and character off the jokes instead of the other way round.

I may or may not agree with his reviews but that doesn't make them any less amusing. That's the best part about gaming as a community and culture we literally have something for everyone. So while I wouldn't quite go so far as to call him a "Gaming Jesus" I would call him an excellent critic and a funny reviewer who's work I enjoy. Then again I also like british humor so maybe that's just me.

I will say the whole "America sucks" schtick has been getting run a little ragged the past month and a bit. It almost seems like he's really trying to shoehorn it in there even where it doesn't really fit. (The start of the minecraft review springs to mind). I'm all for poking at America, I do it myself, especially having been in the military you get perspective on some of the seriously retarded stuff America does as a nation and humor relating to it can be damn funny. It just feels like the last couple have fallen flat.

Any one from outside the US care to comment on that actually? Are the US jokes real knee slappers and I'm not getting it because I'm an American?
I enjoy the jokes, honestly. But I recognize them as jokes and I'm sure Yahtzee prefers the United States over, say, Japan. But then, I know only of the mans taste in video games and his closet addiction to WoW.

I've not found his work funny for a very very long time. The first few were quite good but I've grown tired of his humour as it seldom changes and gets old quickly in my opinion.

However, the reviews are entertaining, and as such I still watch them weekly to this day.

This, the last two videos have felt a lot more like his older stuff to me.

I even made a giant golden present for a friend in his farm on Minecraft.

It took me a surprisingly lon gtime to realise that Zero Punctuation is NOT a Review show! Instead it's an entertainment show that airs every week and almost never misses it's mark.

If you take ZP too seriously, you are doing it wrong!
