Pretty much this.Birras said:I would use the driver's license to track the person down, return the wallet and save their phone number. I would then call them starting two months later, doing so once a week, to deliver criticisms to their life based on what I could gather from the contents of the wallet until a restraining order is filed. Then everybody wins.
who knows maybe you'll be giving the wallet back that happens to belong to an STD free nymphomaniac who is willing to rock your world as thanks.Gormourn said:I would probably just return it. While I see no moral problems with stealing, why bother? It's too much trouble, plus if I return it, there is a very good chance of getting a small reward - or getting to know the other person or even snoop around their home =P
It could make you a friend, y'know. Contacts go a long way.
Now if I just found some cash, clearly lost, I'd probably take it. There is no clear way to contact the person, and whatever.
Canadians are the bomb. At least the ones I've met.aakibar said:I lost my wallet in Quebec was despairing over it. it had:
30$ Canadian
ID from my state
Debit card, i think that was all.
When i got home it was in the mail waiting for me. This taught me two or three things....
1. There are some very nice people in the world who are not out for their own benefit.
2. Some Canadians are the nicest people you will meet.
3. I must return the favor at all times though indirectly so yea.
