Man, that's a tough one. Considering it's someone I don't know, I'm inclined to say none at all. On the other hand, I have been known for being surprisingly kind to people I've never met simply because I had a good feeling about them. I guess I can't answer this poll; it really depends on the situation/person.

For a random stranger? 50%

But I'd more likely try and find several faintly altruistic people and see how much we could collectively dilute the pain. In which case I'd take 100%, and then actively make note of what a 10% decrease in pain actually feels like as others take from me. For science!

Nah, even if I take some of their pain, that's still the same amount of pain in this world

If I could say, take 25% of the pain, but they lose 50% of it (so, 2:1 ratio), I might do it.

I'd do it, out of value for humanity, lack of value of self, and morbid curiosity of what it must feel like, and of course to see how well I could handle it. Half an hour? Hell yeah i will.

All of it. I have a remarkable tolerance for pain, comes from genetic malformation in my foot which was fixed when I was 14, basically I walked for 14 years with a bad foot, constant pain while on it. Also, I'm probably not doing anything all that important at the moment anyway.

Considering that there'll be no lasting injury from it? 100%. I get to make someone's day, it's the right thing to do (by my standards, anyhow), I get to prove what massive balls I have, and I won't remember what the actual pain was like in a day or two. I've been in some pretty huge amounts of physical pain over the years that didn't matter the next day, so fuck it, Altruism-man away!

Unless the person was in that pain because they truly deserved it. Then 0%.

I'd take a bit under half. That much taken away would be a huge relief to him, and not too bad for me.

Hah hah, no. The idea is to make the pain go away without getting it inflicted on yourself, thank you. That's why we have medics and doctors.

Quoted for emphasis. I'd stay to make sure they were alright or call for assistance, but other than that my role would just to be trying to convince others to take the pain instead of me.

I'd like to say I'd take half the pain from them, but being the bastard that I am I actually probably wouldn't take any unless I saw a way it could benefit me.

50%... because I just KNOW that after I take the 100%, everyone will want me to take the pain away... honestly, fuck that shit.
Although that depends on who it is. Random stranger, 50%. Child or loved one? 100%.
