Actually I am doing games programming and have a few friends doing design. If you go to Stafford I hope you like graphics and 3D modelling. I think they give us programmers too much graphics work but it?s nothing compared to the people doing design.Chrono212 said:[HEADING=1]I AM GOING TO STUDY VIDEO GAME DESIGN AND NO ONE IS GOING TO STOP ME![/HEADING]

How much does it cost to go to a university in the US?SuperMse said:Come to the US! We need more English people over here!

Woot fellow Stafford students! First year Games Design is a mix i will admit but once you go second year it becomes very scripting heavy or modelling heavy depending on what you pick.FMAylward said:Profile location says London England.Penguinness said:Stafford is a mix of modules that don't foxus on any particular area, which isn't very helpful at all. You in halls at staffs? In Haughton and doing open day. Some of the questions are raelly stupid like "Dose the widescreen TV\Wardrobe come with the room?" (thats no and its fixed to the bloody wall for everyone else)

HOWEVER! My girlfriend wanted to study Fashion Photography and/or Textiles at university (preferably London) but has decided against it now due to the rising costs.

Ah right I didn't notice that. Nah I'm a 3rd year, I don't envy anyone doing open days, but I would like to tell upcomming students about the university so that they know a bit about exactly how the games design course is that the lecturers won't tell them.FMAylward said:Profile location says London England.

Sorry but you will still end up in debt and if you want to do something like become a scientist, games journalist (Like me) or just something like art or philosophy then you will unlikely ever be able to really pay off that debt without a serious impact on your standard of living. This system has been designed for accounts, lawyers and bankers in true Tory fashionThe Unworthy Gentleman said:Stop listening to the people who say it's £9000 a year, it isn't. At the most, universities can charge £6000 and in exceptional cases it can go up to £9000 however universities can choose to charge the same amount they have been charging for the past few years. Even then, you only have to pay it back when you're making £21000 a year which means you can easily pay it off and live a decent life at the same time.
Student loans will allow you to go to university, don't worry about it. I'm 16 and I'm not worrying about it. Anyway, there is the chance that it will be reduced by another party in the coming years. Don't write off going to university with your friends because of money. If you want to do something then you can't let trivial things like money get in your way.
Well its just open my room up for people to look at and get paid £10 and £5 for the weekdays and weekends they are on... So I get paid for sitting her playing games all day when chances are I would not have been doing anything else anyway.Penguinness said:Ah right I didn't notice that. I think I need to post up a games module thread as I keep going offtopic, but there does seem to be a few stafford games students around these forums.
