Paladins are good at hitting you up close and more importantly can boost everything about you and your allies. Aura's are essential for winning battles on higher difficulties. Also Meditation with Pray bonus is really cool.

I actually use Glacial Spike and Telekinesis. Stupid Telekinesis nerf...but I cast it a ton at items.

I like using irregular builds.

All classes where real fun and slaughterama but...
Assassin was the DeamonGrinder to me... Charge up Cobrastrike combined with Tigerstrike and Phoenixstrike and it's chaos all around, while health-loss won't be an issue! lvl 60 Assassins kill lvl 84 Barbarians!? Ok Sorceresses and Amazones were just unfair with their walking-into-the-field-and-letting-everything-die-instantly-joke or shooting-anywhere-and-killing-anything-tricks...
Plus assassin's Burst of Speed just makes you get through the game a lot faster...
Walking speed or slownes of the other characters just irritated me a bit even with speed-enhancing armor... Fastpace! Not Grandma or -pa sluggish!
Traps? Don't cared about... It's a KATARTORNADO wherein everything is totally Drained and Overkilled!

Can't wait for D3!!!!!

At least, until they nerfed the number of skeles I could have summoned at one time.

Well, thats not going to matter if you play single player and ignore the patch.

My shadow discipline's Assassin was the shit! lol had Master Shadow at lvl 22 (20 is cap + 2 extra points from some item) She was stronger than I was! lol damn summoned ***** made me look bad!
