Mark Hamill then Heath Ledger. For me I can just forget the rest. I hate Cesar Romero as it is cheesy shit. That whole series is a blight upon the history of Batman. Nicholson's Joker was passable at best. I just did not feel he was really "psycho". Ledger's Joker really felt "psycho" to the max. That and Hamill's Joker laugh is just too classic.

Sad there's so many votes for Heath, while his performance was solid and memorable, I can't help but feel there's some level of martyrdom at play.

Just because I haven't had as much exposure to Hamill as the Joker I vote Ledger. I know Hamill is capable of some brilliant voceovers, Metalocalypse for instance, but I haven't heard his Joker enough.

Heath Ledger! He had that menacing laugh that totally "screams" joker. Also he gives that feeling that he (joker) really is a twisted f*cked up man. Jack is a funny guy when he did that but the way his script was that the movie went too much to being kid friendly. Let's face it when it comes to joker we want to see this mad man that is willing to kill to make his point. Not to make someone have this smile that says "Hey here's jokers' mark on your teeth!"

There are good traits on all of them. Save for Cesar Romero, I don't know enough about him to like or dislike him. I've only seen the feature length Batman movie with Adam west and the Joker has few lines. (I personally like West's batman, he's freaking hysterical.)

But Mark Hamil Joker has the random, "Why the hell did he do that?" factor. In Mask of the Phantasm, there is a scene where he's in an abandoned theme park, and an old mobster calls his name. He enters the scene in a blur, and stops on a dime with the absurd "boing" he follows through with this wiggle motion. The kind of thing you see in like a bugs bunny cartoon. BUT it's actually really terrifying. I wasn't thinking, "lol wut" I was thinking, "What if I saw a guy actually do that? Like three inches from me? I'd crap my pants."
For me that makes him a more effective villain. That even something as stupid as that can be made sinister by him.

Its tossup between mark hamill and heath ledger. for non-serious batman fun, mark is the man

but heath leadgers joker was totally black and it really appealed to my sense of the macabre and twisted

for me it's Mark Hamill

while Heath did a good job, him or the script writer missed the whole point of the Joker. The Joker is not to supposed to be just crazy and do crazy things, he's supposed to always do things for a laugh and a joke cause it's fun.

he's supposed to be someone you can look at and go "oh look a funny clown" but when you get closer to him you go "ummm there's something really wrong with that clown, i don't know if i like him that much, he's starting to scary me". that's the thing that they missed with Heath's Joker

For me, Heath was the best, but he's still only slightly better than Jack. I haven't seen the animated series and haven't played Arkham yet so I don't have any experience with Hamill. Romero and the guy who voiced Joker in the older cartoon were a little too silly for me.

As amazing as Ledger's portrayal was, I always picture the animated version of the joker in my mind when I think about him.

Hmm I guess I have to go with Jack Nickolson. Because I can actually see Jack Nicholson going crazy one day and starting a huge crime syndicate whilst he dresses up in a purple suit and dances around spraying toxins that make people grin and die.

My second choice would probably be Mark Hamill. Heath Ledger was a fantastic crimnal he just wasnt the Joker to me. I just always picture the Joker riding a hot air balloon shaped like his head while Harley Quinn throws explosive jack-in-the boxes into the crowds below while his goons hang on ropes stealing stuff from people as they ride by. While the Joker laughs and dances around waiting for another chance to try to defeat Batman.

What you saw was Shotaro and Philippe transforming into Kamen Rider W's "standard" form: Cyclone Joker.

It was either that or post a picture of the Joker Undead:
