Despite the different jokers I've seen I have to go with [God help me]Heath Ledger.
Although I completely HATED the dark knight, I think he really sold it. He played his role very well, and the fact that he died kind of makes it perfect. I'm not sure why, but if he was still around I most likely wouldn't think so highly of his role in the movie.
You "hated" the Dark Knight? Really?

What's your reasoning?

Note, I'm not attacking you or about to ***** at you and say "The dark knight is the greatest movie evar and yur just stoopid!!11!" I just have never met anyone who didn't like it and I want to know why.
lol, it's all good.
I don't think it developed well.
What I mean is, it started out great and strong, but the joker was the only real strong point.
Near the end of the movie I was half asleep and wanted it to just end already.
And then I made the mistake of buying it on DvD, and every time one of my friends sits down and watches it, I find myself hating it more and more.

So honestly, it's probably just me.
I don't like it.
*shrug*
why did you buy it on dvd if you didn't like it?
Hurr hurr hurr, you're is so clevar.
Well, maybe because I didn't hate it at the time?
I did say the Joker was it;s strong point, meaning I liked it enough to admire that. And that WHEN MY FRIENDS WATCH IT I hate it more and more.
If you couldn't put two and two together [Or better yet, not ask a useless question] I don't know man.
Jerk.

Heath Ledger delivered a better performance than anyone would have imagined as the Joker, and I love his take on the character... But Mark Hamill is more representative of the "classic" Joker.

One simple question.

When you read any of the comics and the Joker appears, whose voice do you read it in?

Now I've only read a few of them, I've seen Nicholson, Hamill and Ledger in that order....and to me Hamill will ALWAYS be the true Joker.

See the Joker has two things. Insane and funny.
Nicholson was funny but not insane enough, he could make you laugh always but you were never terrified of him.
Ledger was insane but not funny enough, you were ALWAYS terrified of him and only made nervous giggles.
Hamill was funny AND insane, because he could not only make you really laugh but also get you pretty scared of him.

Jack Nicholson, it's who I grew up with as the Joker, and who I will always imagine as the joker.

Heath Leger was good, but I wanted the giant guns and the gas that makes people laugh to death!

to be honest, you need an option for "none"...
I'm asking for your favorite, if you don't like all of them pick the one you dilike the least

I do like the explanation of "when I think of the voice of the joker, I think of Hamill explanation"

Luke is an awesome voice actor

Jack by far. Everything ledger did seemed to be born of Jack+good director.

Jack seemed generally hostile and intimidating, Ledger just seemed anarchic and laughable.

WOW! You weren't kidding about the faggery part. I think I'm going to need to see my therapist two times a week
Just be happy that you haven't seen the video of JakQ defeating an invincible villain with a Rat Cannon.

Or Kamen Rider X fighting Starfish Hitler.

I think you'd have to see your therapist every day of the week after that.

EDIT: And I'm done with the off-topic stuff now. Hamill forever!

he's supposed to be someone you can look at and go "oh look a funny clown" but when you get closer to him you go "ummm there's something really wrong with that clown, i don't know if i like him that much, he's starting to scary me". that's the thing that they missed with Heath's Joker
Do you seriously consider that there is even one kid in the world who wouldn't run away at the sight of the Joker? All of the Jokers have been far more terrifying and creepy than any clown. Ever.
but the thing is at first glance, all of them seem to be semi-normal clowns compared with Heath's that you could obviously tell was crazy

so yes there's a lot of kids that would run up to the Joker and think he's a nice clown, it's happened many times in the comic and the cartoons
Well, maybe it has happened, but in comics and cartoons, that are only limited to the author's imagination. But enough of the argumentation, I do agree that the other Jokers have looked more than regular clowns than Heath Ledger's one.

Ledger was, without a doubt, the performance that defined that character.

That said, Hamill did the same thing fifteen years ago. Skywalker gets my vote...

Ledger was a good joker he was scary and funny as the joker should be.

Hamil on the other hand is scary before he does anything and again is funny. He also has Harley so I do believe Hamil beats Ledger on this one.

Mark Hamill, because his is the closest to the comic book Joker, and he really does that justice.
