Deus Ex so far, but SR3 may win me over. It really depends on whether I'm feeling serious or silly at the moment.
SR3? what the fuck is that...or maybe i'm getting old and not recognizing abbreviations..

So far? Deus Ex 3. Though that will almost assuredly change in five days. And maybe again in fifteen days.

That's Saints Row 3.

I had high hopes for Portal 2 and it surpassed them all easily. It's not been a bad year all round really. Some very enjoyable indies to fill in the gaps, too.

I'm split between Arkham City and Catherine, and am leaning towards Catherine because it took a lot more risks.

Frozen Synapse, I'll be getting heavily in BF3 multiplayer (I did with the beta, and that was just one small no vehicle map and one game type), but I will still be playing Frozen Synapse.

I'd probably have to go with Skyrim. Catherine would also be up there. Out of the list you have I'd say Batman. From what I've done so far it's a great game. But since i'm not done with it the jury's out on whether it's GOTY worthy

I've played these: Dragon Age 2, Two Worlds 2, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Portal 2, LA Noire, Pokemon White, Okamiden, Catherine, Alice: Madness Returns, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Outland, and Batman: Arkham City.

Out of those (the only one of which I didn't like all that much was Two Worlds 2. It was just OK. Most of the rest I loved), my top five:

5. Catherine
4. Alice: Madness Returns
3. Dragon Age 2
2. Batman: Arkham City
1. Portal 2

Portal 2, since that's the only one off the top of my head that I can think of. Does the ICO / Shadow of the Colossus HD remake count? That gets my vote instead if it does.

No game, since 2011 isn't over yet. I'll name a game Game of the Year when all games of said year are released.

What in god's name is Brink doing up there in placo of DE:HR?

I haven't finished it yet, but unless the second half really fucks things up, I think it is my game of the year so far.

Terraria. Goddamn, that game is addictive.

Though, to be honest, I've been leeching more fun off the skyrim gameplay trailers and interviews than any game I've played- can I use "Skyrim news" as a GOTY until Skyrim actually comes out?

EDIT: If not, then DE:HR is a solid contender- I haven't finished yet, and I don't even have my borrowed copy anymore, but what I did play was almost pure stealth-shootin', contextual-stabbin', gold tinted bliss.

Deus Ex:HR

The Witcher 2 would be a close follow up, but the sluggish controls and problems with gameplay balance takes it down a notch.

I have to say it has been a bit of dull year with all them shooters, but maybe Skyrim will rock the boat a bit. I could go for a big, deep, buggy, time-wasting game as dessert. ;-)

Shogun 2, hands down. best game i have ever played. Skyrim may have a chance to dethrone it, with its ''supposed'' 300 hours worth of content, but im nearly at 400 with Shogun. Hopefully Bethesda has the content to back up such a claim, and doesn't expect me to contemplate each rock and shrubbery for a few minutes.

Arkham City totally failed on this front, 30 hours of gameplay? please. i finished it in one sitting, took just under 4 hours on hard. i dont understand why people froth at the mention of it, totally overrated. no multiplayer at all, and im what just meant to do riddler ''challenges'' for the other 26 hours? thank god for EB's return policy.

Honorable mention to Dark Souls, an amazing game and one that completely blindsided me. i have an Xbox and never even heard of Demon's Souls. probably the best game ive ever played on a console, and even just writing this makes me want to get home and continue it. 7 new game plus modes, with scaling difficulty so its harder each time? that is what you call re playability. its a shame that alot of people are turned off by its difficulty, because it really deserves more attention. Skyrim has a lot to live up to!

Skyrim.

Doesn't matter that it's not out yet: I have had more fun looking at it's screenshots and trailers than I have had playing any game from 2011 so far.
