Wow, looking back it's been a shitty year in games.
It has?

Alan Wake, Alpha Protocol, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, Blur, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Civilization V, Crackdown 2, Darksiders, Dead Rising 2, DJ Hero 2, Enslaved, Fable 3, Fallout: New Vegas, FIFA 11, God of War 3, Goldeneye, Gran Turismo 5, HAWX 2, Halo: Reach, Heavy Rain, Just Cause 2, LEGO Harry Potter, Limbo, Madden 11, Mafia 2, Mass Effect 2, Medal of Honor, Metro 2033, ModNation Racers, MLB 10: The Show, Naughty Bear, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Red Dead Redemption, Singularity, Skate 3, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Split/Second, Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2, Starcraft 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Scribblenauts, Transformers: War for Cybertron

And those are just the bigger name titles, and not all of them at that. I'd say 2010 was perfectly fine.
Yeah, I know. This year has been outstanding. I don't even like a wide variety of game types, but have managed to find numerous new faves this year.

You always hear the same thing: Well next year looks like it might actually be good after the utter crap fest that was this year.
I'm glad I have the ability to genuinely enjoy things.

Gran Turismo 5.

Yeah I know it's not even out yet, but it looks like it's going to be the best in the series so far.
Also the Top Gear test track is in it. What's not to love?

My response to the titles is above. While I will concede that there have been several if not a dozen good games. Thats really not that great for such a huge market.

I subbed sub par games, redded games I haven't played and slashed games which are not out or were shit. [sub][sub][sub]In my opinion[/sub][/sub][/sub].

I'll go back on my prior statement and call the year disappointing. Was L4D2 out this year?
Well, fair enough, opinions are opinions after all. Tricky thing about the internet is that it's very easy to state opinion as fact without intending to do so.

Many of those games are wasted budget. I agree with your final statement, though. I don't need 10 good games every year.

At least you didn't put F1 2010: Bug Edition on your list of doom.
Jeez, you hate a lot of games don't you?

Mass Effect 2. Why, well I've played through it about 10 times and I'm still not bored.

There are a number of games I would like to play that came out this year. Mass effect 2 (Which isnt out until next year on PS), Red Dead, Enslaved and Fallout... But unfortuanatly, I havn't had much money what with starting college this year.
BUT my vote goes to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It may be the only new game I bought this year (the only one that was released this year) but its my favourite MGS so far. It has more content than any other MGS so far, I bought it when it came out and I still have unfinished missions (Although I stopped playing my PSP at all for a month or so because I was just so damn busy all the time).

Starcraft II. And this is not a decent survey without Starcraft II on the list!

Tales of Symphonia. What do you mean that didn't come out this year? I just got to play it this year.

As for an actual game that came out this year. I'm going to have to go with a two-way tie between Fallout: New Vegas and Minecraft. Minecraft has sucked out more time but that's because my PS3 doesn't work so I can't really play New Vegas (I've played a little and loved it).

You should see what I think of movies. ;)

If some of these games were 25 or 40$, I would be nicer. Few games deserve full price, I find.
Well, at least you're honest; I like that :p

I've chosen Red Dead Redemption.

I absolutely love this game and will still love it next year.
It's one of those games that still has loads to offer even after you finish the Single Player Story.
Be it a casual roam around, Achievement Whoring, Treasure Hunting, Lawmen Killing, Multiplayer Games, helping Strangers or just going after animals to get their organs and skins to sell, there is always something to offer.
