Am I allowed to stand back and throw shoes at the buttons till I hit one?Womplord said:No-one is controlling the magic - it is born of nature. I suggest you don't worry about this sort of thing and pretend my situation has no flaws... ie. the situation is DEFINITELY TRUE, and somehow verifiable.Azure Sky said:Basically this.BonsaiK said:If everybody else dies, then that would include whoever is controlling the "magic". Why would they willingly kill themselves and everyone else - but not me?Womplord said:You have to! There is no choice. The magic is forcing you to think that there is no time for some reason, don't ask how this happens :/BonsaiK said:If I don't choose "right now", what happens?
Or you could say that everyone dies.
If everyone dies, then that's the same as me dying, because when I'm dead I've got no guarantee that the rest of humanity will be kept alive (and, give that we're assuming atheism here, I've got no way of looking down from my cloud in heaven and verifying this) so they may as well die, I mean... you know, whatever.
I doubt I could sacrifice myself for everyone else, I hold most of my fellow humans in contempt anyway. But, on the other hand, being alone would probably suck, so I would probably not press anything. Or something like that.
There is a reason there is no option for not pressing any button. You could say that if you don't press any button there is some sort of magical super torture that you can't resist.
I'm trying to keep the explanation open because it doesn't really matter.
