I haven't looked very closely at Cataclysm, so maybe my opinion isn't fair. But I'm not getting sucked back into it.
Fair or not, it's your opinion which we should all respect.

One thing that worries me, though, is that Deathwing is fightable from the start. I don't think that's a wise move. I like that Blizzard has held off the Lich King encounter until now, because that makes finally fighting him all the sweeter because of the anticipation. If Deathwing is available at the start of the expansion, then he will eventually become nothing more than a farm boss after a few months of play.
I actually think they're doing the same for Deathwing, but who knows, things do change.

I've had a look at it and it actually looks pretty awesome. The two new races look to be interesting.
I think this means i'll be returning to WoW for a while now. Definately caught my interest.

I think Cata looks great. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that doesn't make me go "...yeah, that's a pretty awesome idea."

Well, they'll have to make some of the old racials not suck.

Oh dear god no.

They should revamp Shamans as horde only and Paladins as alliance only. NOT MAKE EVERY FUCKING RACE ABLE TO PLAY EVERY GOD DAMN CLASS!

It's only a matter of time until some fucker thinks of "Undead Paladin". >_>
I disagree. I think making Shamans Alliance and Paladins Horde was the ONLY way to resolve the balance issues with the game, without either making the classes virtually identical or effectively designing two separate PvE games. Look at AQ40 for how imbalanced the two classes were; Shamans were useless on some fights, Paladins useless on others.

And, uh. Hate to break it to you, but... Dude's been in the game since pre-BC [http://www.wowwiki.com/Leonid_Barthalomew].

Seeing as I'm a PvP player, I don't really see all of those issues in the same light. I myself felt that having special classes for both factions was a good idea, but maybe I'm wrong.

Well, he's a paladin that died and became an undead. Not exactly what I meant. I meant being able to play as a paladin on your undead.
Even PvP wise it was a problem. Every tweak to try and balance a class was taken as a "Why do you hate Alliance" or "Why do you hate Horde?" and the only solution to have a truly balanced game would have been to make them increasingly similar.

And isn't that technically what every undead is? They've always had the exact same classes as Humans - minus the Paladins - and when you roll your level 1, isn't that interpreted as "oh hey, welcome back from being dead. Hope you remember what you used to be!"

Why can't there be Paladins that died and were resurrected, and then came back as Forsaken?

I quite like the look of it. I only started about a month ago so I'm still on vanilla WoW but I'm really liking the look of the Worgen. Although the first month after Cataclysm will have servers crammed with them.
The first few months after big expansions kinda scare me. Locked severs, tons of new people in the starting zones, a lot of lag; one of the downfalls to expansions.
Also, I like your "Fail-Druid" avatar. ;)
I was wondering how long it would take someone to comment on it. Thanks :p

I don't see why anyone would complain about DLC/expansion packs. I complain about sequels.

In fairness Cataclysm is going to completely change the entire game, so naturally some people are pissed about Azeroth's changing. But to be honest, Azeroth sucks, we all not it, even the whiners, they're just trying to be difficult.

So bring on the change!

As for my personal views on Cataclysm: it looks awesome, but I'm staying cautious. WoTLK's raid content has been so terrible (except for Ulduar), so even though Cataclysm will boast "4 complete raids from launch" whether or not they'll be any good is still a mystery.

It may suck (I don't think so), but there is nostalgia involved. You can't replace all the quest over the years that we've down for this dude in that one zone.

As a fan and avid player of the game, I'm looking forwards to it.
The first 60 levels are stale and boring now; most players have done them an exhausting number of times, and they are mostly uninhabited and boring to play in. Redoing them would bring back the flavour to the first 60 levels, and hopefully lead to a more sociable playing environment in the early levels.

I'm playing at the moment (not right now) and I'll probably keep playing til this comes out and I'll definitely give it a try. I'd imagine it'll make levelling alts about a billion time more interesting, maybe I'll finally make a priest/druid.

I do like the way the Worgen only transform into wolves in combat, thats very cool.
