My mom likes the Wii Fit and the dancing games, but beyond that, they're not really her thing. She likes that I'm into them, though, since she thinks it'll up my chances of landing a boyfriend (thanks Mom). My dad has played a few fighting games and some FPSs with my brothers and me, but I wouldn't really call him a gamer, either. My brothers play games, but I'm the geeky gamer of the family.

My mum spends about an hour every day on Animal Crossing on her Gamecube, but beyond that... nope, nothing. No interest at all.

My dad used to play em all the time. He still plays them from time to time, but hasn't ever really followed the news regarding consoles etc.

Mum has no hand-eye coordination at all so she is awful at everything that isn't on the Wii. Neither care much about me playing them but I have a running competition with my dad in relation to Tomb Raider speed runs / least medikits used / most pickups.

My mom used to HATE games with a passion. Then she got into DDR. Now she still doesn't like them too much, but recognizes that they aren't the nasty things she thought they were.

My dad....ehh...he thinks they're pointless. But then again, he's got so little imagination it's not funny. The man has NO suspension of disbelief.

My dad is super keen on the Civilization games, but not much else. He likes the concept of gaming, and likes hearing about games I play, but he lacks the time to bother. He also used to be a gun at the old Crash Bandicoot and Ace Combat games (as in PS1 era).

My mum bought a Wii, and played it about 4 times. She doesn't care about my gameplaying, as long as it doesn't interfere with anything else in my life, which it really doesn't.

My parents not only dislike games, they make a habit of being as annoying as possible while I'm playing them. It's rather distracting when every time I hogtie someone in Red Dead Redemption, I'm informed that I'm being cruel and that games are corrupting my soul. Though to be fair, they do that to everything I enjoy that they don't. For example, apparently Futurama is also warping my mind.

(For the record, if you're wondering, I am legally old enough to play RDR, so it's not an age thing.)

my dad plays brick breaker on his phone. that is about how close he gets to gaming now adays. but you would not know by looking at him but he is such a whore for tetris.
my mum does like the fact that they kept my brother and I from being too loud and fighting when we were kids. soo she likes them but she would never play them and I think my mum does not like that I play games because supposedly girls who want to get a boyfriend don't play video games.

Both my parents played games actually, but they are almost 60 and sadly the interest faded. My mom mostly played simple and oldschool stuff like Digger and Pacman, but my dad really got us kids into the newer and more interesting stuff at the time, like Monkey Island.

And what was the result of an upbringing with games, you ask? Three bright, balanced and all-round good human beings who have never hurt anyone or done any crime. And we didn't skip the violent games either. :p

Hard to say. If my father was alive I'm sure he'd be as addicted to games as I am. My mother isn't intrested at all, but when I was a kid she loved watching me play games. Ratchet & Clank and Spyro were her favorites!

She told me she once tried to play herself though. She waited until me and my sister had gone to sleep, then she turned on Crash Bandicoot and figured it was a piece of cake since her seven year old kid could play it.
Well, as far as I know she failed on the very first obstacle and haven't touched any games since.

My mum is terrified of games. Oh no, it's not that they're "evil spawn of satan that must be destroyed". Nothing like that. Thing is, she can only play chrash bandicot without shrieking at the slightest sign of darkness or danger. She has no offensive attitude towards games, but she sucks at them :p

My dad doesn't have a lot of time on his hands. We occasionaly play some CS 1.6 tho (usually at his initiative). And he has shown interest in minecraft. He also agrees that games are a great source of learning and without them I would never quite have grasped the english language.

So overall, they're pretty positive to gaming. As long as it's healthy.

My parents play video games, not as much as I do, but they play. Generally it's Counter-Strike 1.6, but they play a bit of Call of Duty, Rock Band, and generally whatever I have but usually they stick to shooters.

Drunken LittleBigPlanet 2 can be far more entertaining than it should be, though.

I don't really know about my actual parents but my grandfather used to love playing pac-man and my grandmother used to switch between playing Super Mario Bros. 3 and Robowarrior.

Now my grandmother plays some popcap games on her pc but will occasionally stop and watch me playing a few games and comment on how good they look, etc. but refuses to touch them because there are "too many buttons" on controllers now.

A year ago. Both my parents said it's a waste of time.
This year. My father is carefree about it and my mother likes Angry Birds enough to buy herself a t-shirt.
