If you look at what the government has been doing, actually we've lost all our rights. Anti-terror laws has arrested numerous innocent people and put them in prison without charge. So far no one has suffered terribly but this soon could change. A prime example is the old man who cried out nonsense at The Labour Party Conference, he was arrested under terror laws. Another would be the recent arrest of the [b[Conservative minister George Osbourne who was arrested for doing his job[/b].

There was a documentary on how we have lost our liberties on channel 4 recently I think it was called Taking Liberties which goes through each of our rights on the Magna Carta that have been abolished. For instance our right to protest has been removed, you know need a permit, soon they'll bring in identy cards and our passports now have chips in them that can be traced.

God I feel like a conspiracy nutjob
It wasn't George Osbourne, it was Damian Green. Not that that makes a difference, it was still a farcical set of affairs.

Also, the old man was not arrested following his heckling of Jack Straw, he was simply prevented from re-entering the Conference.

The right to protest has not been lost in Britain! The only place where you're not allowed to protest is in Parliamnet Square.

Suplexisism. It is the belief that I should be above everyone else but they should all be equal with each other. Think of it as "Father knows best communisim."

I took a political compass test, and I came up as a progressive libertarian.

It describes my views rather well, since I like the republican (or what's SUPPOSED to be republican) economic view, but at the same time prefer the liberal social view. So while I'm for a free market economy and everyone living off what they earn, I'm also for equal marriage rights and keeping church and state separate.

Raised as a Socialist and have no reason to think that the ideals I have been brought up with are wrong in any way. In fact socialism to me seems like the most sensible ideal for running a country.

Interesting to see that more people are pro-fascism/despotism than there are pro-monarchy.

But then again, seeing the escapist's users responses to grammar mistakes (even from those who don't speak english as a first language) it's hardly suprising.

some of those choices are actually economic not political like capitalism and communism. and you left out republic/democratic. I'm going to just say "other" because my political views are mix of socialism and liberalism.

I value individual liberty first and foremost. More government is antithetical to it, so I must favor small government. How small a government we can have without falling into chaos I see as more of a practical question. Minarchy? Anarcho-capitalism?

I voted "Capitalism" because it is what my favorite systems of government have in common.

I thought it interesting that democracy was list off of the list, however, mine was still not up there, so I voted other.

Yes we have had a shitty past.
There's always the future, I'm sure there'll be some sort of resurgence of fascism in the West eventually. With this sort of continued economic downturn and tension with the Islamic World, who knows what we'll pull out with.

I would say something between Laissez Faire and pre-financial crisis US economies as an economic system and Swiss Democracy as political system would make a pretty hardcore combination.

You do realize that the financial crisis in the US was created by the pre-financial crisis US economy? Hooray for socializing loss and privatizing gain, eh comrades? eh?

Anarchism with all the rude/stupid people kicked out.

Realistically I'd go with socialism.

I was very confused by this post.
Making a rule against stupid people kind of defeats the whole purpose of anarchism. And if the solution is to kill all the stupid people, well, thats hitler-brand facism right there. :)

And socialism demands centralized planning, and a hiearchical government structure, with tons of rules regulations laws and levies.

So, its kinda funny that you choose anarchism as an idea and socialism as the next best thing. One would think we could you know go anarchist --> libertarian --> republican --> democrat --> socialist --> communist but no, straight to socialist!

For myself, I was very upset at the lack of a "Paul-tard" category, because thats what I classify myself as. Not even a libertarian school of thought. Meh.

Personally I like capitalism, but I communism isn't a bad idea. It's jsut never been done correctly, and I think it's time we tested it in a different way, aka not with a real country hell we have the computers let's make a sim god dammit. It is a good idea and the onyl problem is it's execution.

  • [sup]16[/sup]For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

    Colossians 1:16

[sup]13[/sup]Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, [sup]14[/sup]or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. [sup]15[/sup]For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. [sup]16[/sup]Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God. [sup]17[/sup]Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.
