I played a lot of Battlefield 2 back in the day, and in that game, you had magazines.
You start with a few, and every time you reload, whether or not you fire 1 bullet or 15, every reload uses 1 magazine. and you don't get a lot of magazines.
The only exception is shotguns, where you reload by putting in the shells 1 by 1, in that case I reload whenever I'm able.
Basically, I make my shots count, and reload only when I have to.

I recently stopped because I lost the first disk (the disk you need to insert to run the game).
But according to a few people I know, a lot of people still play it.
