I reload ALL. THE. TIME. I swear I just continuously tap the reload button. If I'm using a sniper rifle or similar, I fire a shot, and instead of firing again, reload, THEN fire. This ridiculous habit gets me killed constantly. Sometimes it pays off massively, though.

As soon as I get a kill. I learnt my lesson when I walked into two enemies in MW2 looking away, and I fired bullets only ending up having to reload and getting a billion bullets in me.

I reload when I feel like it needs to be done. A lot of times it is after a fight. Sometimes its in the middle.

After every kill when I'm using an assault rifle. I prefer not reloading when out in the open, however.

I often find that I probably reload too much, causing me to be in the middle of reloading when someone decides to shoot me.

I always reload after one of two things.

Either when I kill someone or after I put a few shots into an enemy just as they take cover.

I really don't understand games that delete your leftover ammo when you reload. Why would it be thrown away? Your character can easily drop the magazine/drum/etc... into the pouch that the new one came from. If it's dropped in the heat of battle, why can't you pick it pack up like other items?

Then there are inventory systems that make no God-damned sense, like Resident Evil 5's where taking something out of your inventory (so you can reorganize) deletes it from the entire world and eggs take up as much space as an Gatling gun.

Sure it makes it more challenging. But it makes no sense.

I reload after every kill. Unfortunately, I just do it on reflex, as sonn as I see the enemy falling. This has caused trouble against players in Last Stand or Final Stand in MW and MW2. Even more idiotic is I sometimes reload even before the enemy starts going down, because I get used to how many shots it takes.

constantly, I have TF2 on auto-reload

having said that, the time between shots and the instant-ness of the reloading animation on the Spy's revolver means a slowed rate of fire, but that's okay

pretty much any time I shoot and don't immediately see a need to shoot again, screws me over sometimes but I've gotten good with the pistol backup so not a huge issue.

I used to reload after every kill, but that constantly killed me. So I now make sure its safe first.

Learning through neccessity; the only way to learn.

Every chance I get

Killed someone? Reload!
Missed someone? Reload!
Don't have a full chamber/clip? Reload!

It's quite the habit for me.

When the gun stops shooting.

I have to fire all the bullets I can before they run out!
