America is the only place people say zee... I'm not saying zed is "correct" or anything, I don't give a fuck, it just strikes me as a little bit sad none of you have ever heared of it.

Hi there, I'm from the USA and I've never heard (not 'heared', no one with an edjumahcashun says that) anybody say zed.

And just because I say that doesn't mean I'm "isolated from the rest of the world". It means I haven't talked to anyone from the rest of the world specifically about the letter Z, or asked them to spell out a word with the letter Z in it.

Also, I'd like to point out that all the "I'm from (country) and I say Zed because that's the correct way you stupid Americans!" comments are just as annoying to us in the States. We do things differently, and it's not a big deal. But saying your way is the correct way, and in some cases blatantly calling us out on ours, is incredibly arrogant and pretentious.

Same here! As I read the OP, I started humming the alphabet to myself: "...QRS, TUV, W, X, Y and ZEE."
I don't think I know anyone who says "zed". Well, except for a few French friends, but they don't count, they're not fluent.

I have never heard of anyone say the letter Z pronounced zed before. If this is a real thing some people do, I would say they weren't taught English properly.

Do you not think thats a harsh close minded way to think of the way other cultures/countries teach English? Bet you wouldn't/don't appreciate people saying that your country of origin does not teach English correctly.

no in real english speaking countries we can say a word without saying each letter individually and hoping it sounds intelligible.

we also get taught the alphabet to the point we can remember all 26 letters without having a rhyme

however in aus the american media presense is too strong and most youngun's would use ZEE. however in proper english zee is too similar to cee phonetically thus pronounced zed.

also zed is cool. zee is the most limp wristed and pathetic sounding letter ever.

Hmmm, I was wondering why you cut out half the quote. Because at the end I said that I didn't think that there was a correct way, and you could say it however the fuck you want. My post was not about the correct way to say it, I couldn't care less. I was pissed off that you guys are so isolated. Not having talked to anybody from the rest of the world long enough to realise we say it differently is isolation.
My opinions on this aside you are a fuckwit for misquoting me. It doesn't make you look good when you edit the post you are replying to to suit your argument.

I didn't care what you said after that, I was addressing the statement I quoted. I've known, talked to, and been friends with plenty of people outside the States; not once has the subject of Z been brought up. We have had run-ins with how we say things, but that case hasn't been brought to my attention.

I'd also like to point out that I didn't specifically include you among the group I was targeting; jumping to the conclusion that I was is a faulty assumption. Your post was absolutely fine in that regard, I was simply offended by the first portion. Insulting me for that is entirely uncalled for, but if it makes you feel better, I'll edit in the entirety of your post in mine.
