I think it makes Yahtzee more than he is. I like Rebbeca's songs but it didn't like this one.

Like everything else by Rebecca Mayes, it makes *insert pop star flavour of the week* sound tolerable.
Well that is because she is capable, you can't say that about pop music stars usually. She also clearly enjoys it and cares about trying to make something good. It's a product with integrity unlike so many others... I'm looking at you Rihanna...
Wait, what? That doesn't make sense. Why would her alleged capability make her less preferable to listen to than generic pop star #35724573436?
I was using sarcasm to call him stupid for thinking that rebecca mayes, a person who can actually play real instruments, is somehow less talented than say... the entire top thirty of virtually any given music chart.

So what's you're opinion on the song?

I loved it! I honestly want it on my MP3 player.

EDIT:I accidentally hit the enter button before I finished, and it won't let me add the rest of the options. How do I fix this?
Just go to your post and hit "Edit" Then you can put them in.
I tried that many times.

I didn't care for it. I didn't like the music, the rhytm and especially not the vocals. I reckon Rebecca Mayes is a little less talented than everyone else here seems to think.

And making a song about Yahtzee is just a cheap way to earn bonus points, in my book.

Numerical score: 4/10.

Right, but in the song she specifically mentions that he insulted some mystery woman and it pissed her off, and some other issues. Did Yahtzee insult her mother or something? And, speaking of her mom, I can only assume that the woman was tone deaf. And that that sort of thing's genetic.
First off, he insults ALOT of women (but the blood stain suggests that he "put her down" in a different way). Second, Rebecca is awesome, not tone deaf.
In fairness, he insults everybody and everything...

I thought it was kind of funny, although I`n not sure if it was supposed to be serious or not. I was kind of hoping Yahtzee would make a comment or something, but whatever. Maybe he`ll write her one now. XD

I was hoping it would be an 8 minute E3 bashing video. Instead I got to hear some insipid bull. I listened to a few of her songs a while ago and didn't like a single one. I only come to this site for ZP and Unskippable. I should have known it'd show up in one of his videos after she begged for lyrics at the end of one of the previous videos, sadly I didn't take it as the warning I should have.

I actually liked it, all of Mayes' other muses have been "meh" in my eyes, but this one was kinda catchy, so I liked it.

I didn't like it much. I sat through half of it, and left. I was really excited that there was an extra to the video, but then I lost that when I saw that it was a cheap way to get more awareness for her video.

It's not that I have a problem with her, I just don't enjoy her music much. I've given it a few different tries though. And now trying to sneak it up on me like that kinda offends me in a way. It's like they were trying to force it on me, but obviously, that can't be done with that kind of thing.

I'm surprised at the higher level of civility on this thread as opposed to the comments for the ZP itself... although I supposed I shouldn't be. Yahtzee does seem to attract more than his fair share of the Batshit-fucking-LOCO crowd.

OT, I liked it, but then I like the electro-chick-music thing, so I'm predisposed to liking it. I know that there is a lot of fans of extreme music on this site, and I bet they really didn't care for it.

I'm always kind of shocked at the people who seem to equate 'I don't like it' with '...so the artist doesn't have any musical talent'. I honestly just try to limit my reponse to "it's just not my thing" when I'm in that situation, unless it's pretty clear that the person is completely lacking in musical skills. RMM, love her or hate her, can objectively be said to sing well, and to play multiple musical instruments with some skill, so you can't say she's devoid of talent, even if you don't like what she creates using that talent.

EDIT:

Also, it appears to be necessary to point this out: if you don't think the staff of the Escapist was behind this, then you're just being silly. It's their job to promote the stuff that they pay people to produce for them, and one of the best ways is to leverage a high-drawing feature (like ZP) to get people to view stuff they might otherwise not check out. Why do I say this? The Escapist is a business. They own the content shown here, not the artists. (Think of it as TV Shows, not like music CDs.) They know exactly what is going on with the content they're posting.

So stop with the 'Mayes is just riding Yahtzee's popularity' comments. That just isn't likely to be the case, really.

So, I'm confused. Has there been some internet equivalent of a Yahtzee/Mayes Cold War that I've been blissfully unaware of until now?

It reminded me of Evanescence, mostly because I hate Evanescence. Horribly written, has a very generic catchy sound, and her singing, while not technically bad, is simply dull. Basically, your average female singer singing a generic song that happens to be about Yahtzee.

It was Ok. I think Mayes' songs tend to sound too much alike, especially in tone, so I find them a little boring. Not technically a bad singer; just too generic.

I liked it. I found it witty. Although it's not my preferred music style, I occasionally listen to Rebecca's Muses.

On a side note, Rebecca, if you're reading these, remember that the internet allows for people to be very boorish and savage, and extremely offensive. And I don't pretend to know you, but I would hope that, if you read posts like some of these, you'll calmly take the harsher/non- constructive criticisms and disregard them. They can only hurt, and are at best personal opinions lacking in tact.
