Dear god, is this the community into which I have been inadvertently initiated by way of watching a few episodes at the earnest recommendation of people whose opinions I trust and being forced to grudgingly acknowledge the high production value, solid characterization, and top-notch humor?

Well, shit.

Touche. It would be a Raz-pony, but I've only been able to find one image of that and it just looks like he's naked.

Now wait just a tick... Is Equestria the whole world? Or just one of many nations. Because when all the continents were merged to make Pangaea, The weather is thought to have extremely hot summers and extremely cold winters. Not like the weather in Ponyville.

Also there should be massive deserts which MLP kind of holds in one episode, cant remember which.

I think we all know what this means...

I don't think it's ever been specified. If there are other nations I feel really bad for them having to deal with the one ruled by the actual sun goddess.

This is why this place will always be better than 4chan in my mind. I post a pony thread on 4chan, four day ban. I get on the Escapist- and I find this.

Anyway, to weigh in, it is in a future Antarctica, at a point in history where global warming has turned it into a moderate climate.

Answer:1 If anywhere I'd say alternate universe with all Earth references being complete and utter coincidence that they have something with the same name.

Answer:2 They reproduce by magic.

Overall though I think your just reading way to much into a TV show that doesn't require logic. Logic may actually harm your thoughts about it. EG Pinkie Pie talks about eating hotdogs and you see a ham sandwich at one point meaning the ponies eat meat. Either that or it could be something overlooked by the writers. You have to just ignore the science and roll with the good times.

Actually I prefer your answer.

Second Answer: But even then, considering that the Ponies are constantly nude and we see them at several different angles their genitals would either have to be invisible or in a unusual spot like on their heads hidden under their hair or something.
You're assuming the ponies reproduce in the same way humans and our version of horses do. It's a different universe and/or reality were 4 legged animals can talk, fly and cast magic. There could be several different ways of reproducing using magic alone.

Next question please.

Equestria takes place where My Little Pony has always taken place: in some magical pony land on the world of imagination.

Lauren Faust has all the answers. Though it did take me an annoyingly long time to find this image. I think I'll add a "Word of God" subfolder to my Ponies folder for stuff like this.

I have no fucking clue. Dragonshy confirmed that Equestria is not the name of the planet, but rather a mass of land. We know all of the lands in season one are apart of Equestria, but have yet to see anywhere OUTSIDE of those boundaries. Still, the land formations do not exist in nature (or at least that close together). A town, farmland, forest, mountainside, and desert? Within a day's travel of each other? Bullshit.

My theory is that the land of Equestria is a little girl's rather large playset. This explains why the seasons need changing and the animals need to be taken care of (the little girl is moving the toy sun, moon, snow, and animals around, and pretending that the ponies are doing it). The Everfree Forest is the nearby garden where she sometimes plays, but her brother (who has dragon and monster toys) plays in the garden and bothers her toys with his toys when she goes there.
And that girls name....Lauren Faust.
I was actually going to say that, but I figured since she's not working on the show anymore it might not work still...Get Out Of My Head!
The first two seasons are still developed by her. Season three is where she is stepping down from her original position. FiM is partially based on how she would play with the original MLP toys as a child, but judging from your original post, I guess you already knew that.

Also, the city of Equestria, South Africa is not a worn torn area of the continent.

Wait a second! If they share our universe then how come they don't share our laws of physics?

Where is Equestria? The majority covers what used to be considered the American continent, but that was before the war...

It was 2107, just ten years after nanomachines first became a reality, that they were first being used to control weather patterns. After decades of horrific storms and droughts from climate change mankind had finally conquered the weather. The only thing that was needed was a method to transport the nanomachines to the upper atmosphere. Entire books could be written going into the details as to why genetically modified horses were chosen.

To keep it short, the nanomachiens were produced via a biological process. Initial tests were performed on humans. We thought we were one step closer to the singularity. In truth, we were one step closer to our damnation. It was supposed to offer 'superhuman' strength, increased cellular regeneration, increased intelligence. But, the first human trials were a disaster. All suffered from dementia and died of severe brain hemorrhaging within 7-10 days of the operation. It was suggested to try the operation on younger subjects, but government laws and regulations prevented further human testing. There were some expireemnts with artificial lifeforms such as insects, but the project proved too costly. The use of horses came after a lead in a possible cancer cure. The cure lead to a dead end, but paved the way for further testing on horses as a vector for the nanomachines. The horses proved to be resilient to the negative effects of the nanites save for stunted growth.

So began Operation Pegasi. By heavily genetically modifying the horses to give them wings, they could transport the nanites directly to the upper atmosphere. In less than 5 years after their invention, humankind could use nanomachines to directly control the weather and climate. The havoc from over a century of global warming and climate change could finally be reversed. Droughts, floods, destructive storms...all a thing of the past.

Of course, we didn't stop there. These horses were becoming stronger and more intelligent. Why spend years training something when it could be sentient? Between genetic and nano augmentation, the first sentient horse was born on April 15th 2111. In two weeks it had grasped human speech. In four months, the new generation had developed their own language. A new breed of horses were being developed. A species that could more directly control the nanomachines. Through the use of a biologically based amplifier and antenna protruding from the base of the skull, the horse could effectively control the machines to their will...our will...

I was a part of the research team in Project 62-codename Alicorn. The idea was to combine all the befits of the new species into one glorious, perfect being. The first dozen or so generations were catastrophic failures. Those that lived more than a few weeks proved to be severally mentally unstable. For 7 years my team worked tirelessly with nothing to show. Our funding was going to be cut if we didn't have a working proof of concept by the end of the fiscal year.

There were only 3 and a half weeks left when she was born.

She was perfect. Genetically and physically perfect. Her wings were stronger than any others, Her intelligence unmatched, Her ability to control the nanites was unparalleled! The very next day we were handed a blank check and mass production began immediately.

Augest 27th 2127 at 5:13 AM: I was awoken by the sound of alarms and guards with assault rifles running down the halls of my dormitory. I grabbed my journal and caught a glimpse out the window. Building 7 was engulfed in flames. Had I comprehend the ramifications of what I had seen that night, I would have ended my life right then.

How many of the escaped? No official number was ever known. All I know is that the ones that didn't escape were executed...and there were only a small fraction of the bodies in the mass grave of alicorns than had been produced and born within the facility.

History has forgot who fired the first shot. We only know that they fired the last. The planet was devastated in the resulting war as hundreds of chemical, biological, and nuclear warheads were launched in a last ditch effort. Rumors say that She survived. That She rules them was a god-queen. She is as charismatic as She is treacherous.

What humans remained were rounded up and sent to work camps or executed on the spot. Only small pockets of humans still survive. We live underground, hidden from our creations and the mutants that wander the surface. What few alicorns survived the war turned on themselves. Only the strongest of them survived.

Too small of numbers to survive as a species much longer.

Food is running out.

May God have mercy on our souls.

First question: Post apalocptic earth, if it was anywhere else how would they speak a language from eartf?

Second Question: The same it true for a lot of animals, humans have one of the largest genetals of any animal, many animals are so small they can't be easaly seen.
mate, i go to school next to a bloody farm. most of the girls i know ride horses. they have massive cocks. maybe they hide them with magic. plus, most of the male horses seem to wear stuff near their 'waists'.
OT: well, Fluttershy knows about French haute couture, and theres the architectural style of cloudsdale... its Alternate Universe Earth.

I'm pretty sure it's a sugar-sweet fantasy world with hidden darkness.

Y'know, like Dream Land or the various worlds saved by Klonoa.
