I know people say a lot of good things about them but I really, really hate rubber bands, regardless of their hype.
That's right, it makes Pink Floyd the fucking king of the world (probably the most tongue-in-cheek thing I've said all day).Mozared said:Basically, every artist older than 20 years that so-called 'musical experts' come up with as "the best artist of the last 100 years" if some musical noob tries to tell them Bullet For My Valentine is the most awesome band ever. So what would be The Beatles, The Who, Led Zepplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, etc, etc.
None of these are bad artists (in fact, I know very little work of some of them, and some are indeed pretty damn good) but the fact that they are always pushed forward as "the pinnacle of musicianship" just annoys the heck out of me. Sure, populair music nowadays sucks and pop used to be better 20-30 years ago, but that does not make the Who the fucking king of the world.
Have you heard what V.I.T.R.I.O.L.(Anaal Nathrakh) has said about them. Funny stuff.Tonimata said:Anything made from 2000 onwards.

The Beatles ? brilliant but overrated.
Cradle of Filth ? astutely manipulative pop.
Napalm Death ? trend setting legends.

Varg Vikerness is his name. The guy who killed Euronymous, used a burned church for an album cover (totally subtle right?) and does the music for Burzum. Its funny how he used to look like this:Tonimata said:snip

These young men are truly the greatest music assassins known to mankind.
I believe it was Wander Freak who did a review of this CD. How he made it through shit like this, is beyond me. But I know one thing: He's a hero. That's for DAMN sure.
If you got into Rise Against early on, they remain awesome sauce despite their popularity (at least for me anyways). ^^Sven und EIN HUND said:Anyway... My choice is Rise Against. The little that I've heard I've somewhat enjoyed but I just haven't been able to get into them. Maybe one of the contributing barriers to me liking them is that everyone.likes.rise.against.
EDIT: Also, dragonforce.
Killswitch? Seriously? Do you not like metalcore or is there something specific about them?Nightzirk said:ALL OF THEM.
No, but seriously: U2, Aha (popular here in Norway at least), Killswitch Engage, Jonas Brothers (do they even qualify as a real band?) and most other bands from this millennium.
