Fallout Boy, Panic At The Disco, and to a lesser extent, Muse. I do like Muse, but I hate their recent stuff which is apparently not the done thing :/

AC/DC - Over rated all around. Angus Young is not a good guitarist, the drummer and bassist are horrid, their songs sound the same.

Fallout Boy - excessively immature and poppy. Horrible song writers, etc.

Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Nickleback, etc. - Corporate fed rock with no soul, just generic music marketed to tweens.

These threads are fairly redundant, you know. There are an assload of "bad music" topics and all of them are exactly the same - Jonas Brothers, Green Day, Nickelback and *insert something modern here* are the most common entries. If you would really like to find out what other bands people despise or don't like, use the monkey-fighting search bar. And if you are adamant that strangers from around the world must know what band you hate, practice the dark art of necromancy on another decayed thread. Clogging the system with "Jonas FTL" isn't healthy for anyone.
Someone should make a thread about what music artists/ individual songs people actually like rather than another one of these threads, it would most likely be more beneficial too. Less ragging on the Jonas brothers and Nickelback and more introducing people into new artists they might not have heard of, lets expand our horizons!

As a few people have already said, King of Leon. I know its never likely to happen but they need a new vocalist. He just sounds like a whiny *****.

ALL OF THEM.
No, but seriously: U2, Aha (popular here in Norway at least), Killswitch Engage, Jonas Brothers (do they even qualify as a real band?) and most other bands from this millennium.
They get a pass from me. They wrote one of my favorite Bond songs of all time.

The Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana, Nickleback, ALL rap artists.
No love for the 80's-early 90's rappers that were actually good, like Public Enemy, Tupac, and Notorious B.I.G.?

.....No.....

How much have you heard?

Anyway... My choice is Rise Against. The little that I've heard I've somewhat enjoyed but I just haven't been able to get into them. Maybe one of the contributing barriers to me liking them is that everyone.likes.rise.against.

EDIT: Also, dragonforce.

I guess I just wonder... what DO you guys listen to. A lot of the recent bands are hated on, but some of you are hating on the old classics. so whats so bad about most of these bands?

I used to hate Queens of the Stone Age until I realized I hated it because my brother would never stop listening to it. Then I moved out... and I love that band.

Most bands. The only really popular bands I like are The Smashing Pumpkins and Slayer. The rest are less known, not because I'm elitist, it's just that most people have really bad taste.

Ok, pop, hip-hop and rap. Any rock that's on mainstream radio. Actually, any music that's on mainstream radio. Douchebags with acoustic guitars singing about how much they just want spend time with their girl. Any genre with a "core" on the end.

Basically, every artist older than 20 years that so-called 'musical experts' come up with as "the best artist of the last 100 years" if some musical noob tries to tell them Bullet For My Valentine is the most awesome band ever. So what would be The Beatles, The Who, Led Zepplin, Jimmy Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, etc, etc.

None of these are bad artists (in fact, I know very little work of some of them, and some are indeed pretty damn good) but the fact that they are always pushed forward as "the pinnacle of musicianship" just annoys the heck out of me. Sure, populair music nowadays sucks and pop used to be better 20-30 years ago, but that does not make the Who the fucking king of the world.

I gotta say I can't stand The Beatles.

Yeah I know they influenced alot of todays music but I just find them depressing. Nothing about them is appealing to me.

I can't stand to listen to their music, watch any shows about them, buy anything associated with them...
Depressing? How the hell did you come up with that one? I think you need a better answer than that.

I should probably add "content" to this post lest the mods probationate me again...

Here's some content:

Popular music is really bad.
Which is why it's popular.
You see, people suck
and people who suck need music to "identify with".
Thus, shitty people listen to shitty music.
Since a large percentage of people are shit,
the best way to make money is to cater to shitty people
who like shitty music.
Hence the shittyness of popular music.

There, no probation for fluffy.
You should go on probation for not being specific. Do you mean just the popular music these days or the classics as well?

I can understand the people = shit formula but it's not as black n' white as you think.

It's tough, since I do actually have a great appreciation for popular music.

I can't stand Pink Floyd. I really don't know what there is to like about them.
Besides the fact they had great riffs and an original style. I will never understand people who don't like great bands like Pink Floyd. They just don't make the slightest bit of sense.

As for me, I dislike like bands that don't at least try to do something original or create at least one good riff. One good riff, thats all I ask, it couldn't be that bloody hard.

Unfortunatly this goes for most bands I hear about but some have surprised me like Between the Buried and Me.
