Popular bands that you don't like?

Metallica is decent at best and everyone, including themselves, act like they are the gods of metal. And everyone knows that the god of metal is Ronnie James Dio.

And Dio's archangels are Quorthon, Euronymous, Nergal, Chuck Schuldiner and Dave Mustaine.

Too many to list but the ones that stick out are Oasis, who are a case of huge wasted potential, The Streets because they're another case of huge wasted potential.

See, their first albums were both really good, in fact Original Pirate Material is one of the best records ever to come out in the last 10 years. But they went this weird route, for The Streets it was 'Bloke-ish rap' which made no sense because Mike Skinner struck me as this really witty clever musician and why he'd go from talking about life in modern England to writing songs about boy meets girl, girl dumps boy et cetera doesn't even bare thinking about.

Oasis just started ripping off the Beatles.

Coldplay because all their songs never really change and they riped off Computer Love by Kraftwerk without ever throwing their hands up and saying 'yeah, we got that melody off of a Kraftwerk song'.

And Muse, because they are nothing special, yet everybody treats them like they're the next Pink Floyd. and that is seriously me being nice about them.

and please don't try argue why these bands arent bad because I really don't care anymore.

HINDER, NICKELBACK, NEW RAP, (unless its about having sexual relations with a mermaid), Yellowcard, Dashboard Confessional. I find it funny people mention Jonas Brothers... I thought everyone knew they were a complete and total joke. You know I don't even listen to the radio because unique and amazing bands such as Battles and Animal Collective aren't played at all. And all Radio is commercial advertisement anywhoo.

Oasis immediately spring to mind. All that fame and success when they were really just tedious luddites who saw themselves as the next Beatles despite having completely missed the point of what the Beatles were about. Their music is passable at best, and as people they come across as arrogant pricks who think it's cool to be thick.

Also, you forgot spazzcore, hardcore punk(1st, 2nd & 3rd wave), terrorcore, sadcore(1st & 2nd wave), dancecore, emocore (1st, 2nd & 3rd wave), darkcore, hardcore techno, digital hardcore, splittercore, industrial harcore, frenchcore, lolcore, nintendocore, sythcore,skacore (1st &2nd wave) speedcore, ect.

i hope for the sake and wellbeing of all of humanity that at least tha majority of those are not real

I am not going to lie here. If you can switch out your lead singer with a toad, you have a problem.

I am going to say that I dislike the average modern day pop band.

How do you hate a band "on principle"? That doesn't even make sense, that just sounds like you're hating something just for the sake of hating it.

It makes perfect sense. While I don't hate the music of the likes of Nirvana and Sonic Youth, I hate them for what they stand for. Sonic Youth for totally undermining the riot grrrl movement and everything it stood for, and Nirvana because of the members. Both individually and as a whole. The band was Kurt Cobain, let's not piss around the bush. Dave Grohl doesn't recognise this and thinks he has some kind of god given right to be a dick because Kurt picked him out of a lineup to play the drums in his band. He has no talent and Courtney Love had more input into Nirvana than he did. Kurt Cobain was bareable, if only just, but the second he shot himself (AND YES HE DID SHOOT HIMSELF) it was like every Nirvana fan took leave of their senses and blamed everyone but Kurt for his death because he was the second coming and anyone who doesn't agree is clearly an idiot. He was fucking depressed, let it go.
