Aye, FF XIII was fun after three minutes, I agree and it's a good game, in my opinion.Kagim said:I don't know why people say that.spartan231490 said:FF13, "it gets fun after 13 hours" well thanks, but i have shelves of games which are also fun for the first 13 hours.
FF13 was fun after the first 3 minutes. That can be shorter if the game is already unwrapped and in the console.
Perhaps I am just incredibly weird and enjoy a well thought out story with an interesting battle system.
Does that count as a "I don't understand?"
I don't understand why anyone thinks it takes 13 hours? Is it soemthing Yahtzee said or soemthing?
Couldn't have said it better myself.Sassafrass said:Every one has different tastes. Simple as that.
I loved the story myslef, but i thought the gameplay was boring and unimmersive. My friend said he felt the same for the first 13 hours, but it was worth it to him cuz he was planning to sink like 150 hours in. And Yahtzee did say it, but i think he was quoting someone else.Kagim said:I don't know why people say that.spartan231490 said:FF13, "it gets fun after 13 hours" well thanks, but i have shelves of games which are also fun for the first 13 hours.

It definitely wasn't the best game ever. But i find it to be fun for the most part, it would be better if they reduced the lag on the system, but other than that i really have no complaints. I don't understand the argument that cod6 sucks cuz it's generic. pb&j is generic, i still like it cuz it's good. Yes, it's almost entirely unoriginal, but it does multiplayer fps very well in my opinion.random980 said:Yes it is fun to spray bullets and blame bad scoring on lag and mw2 does do this well. but there are other games that do it better. and i fail to see why so many people called it the best game ever when it first came out.spartan231490 said:Yes it it, but it does it well. Thats the funny part, we who like cod 6 will never argue that it isn't generic, we just like to play it because it is a fairly decent modern fps, with a fun, if laggy, multiplayer.random980 said:COD6. Its....just...so...GENERIC.
Marketing? I'm not really sure myself, although i liked the story for halo and gears, even if it's kinda pushed aside. Maybe because kids just want generic shooters, i know i love them. I love my stealth games too, and my rpg's, i guess i have no problem with generic.oreopizza47 said:i'm anti-stubborn with games, meaning i enjoy them all, but i just don't understand why CoD, Gears, MoH, or Halo are so popular. they're just overly generic shooters. what's the big deal?
snipers, overpowered in mw2... whatthefuckamIreading, though i would agree with you on the air support and noobtube issue. Not G. Ivingname said:random980 said:COD6. Hi, welcome to The Escapist, have a fun time here and play nicely with others.IamSofaKingRaw said:Final Fantasy VII. I created an account just to say this. I've heard for years how great it is and that even now if don't mind the graphics (which I didn't)the gae was perfect. I get it on my psp and made it to the part where Sephiroth(?) releases the Weapons. I just lost interest around there. I mean whats so special about this game? I know i'll probably get flamed on this but I honestly, truly liked FFXII more than FFVII. I don't understand the story at all. At the beginnning I beleive the goal is to shut down Shinra because of some global warming issue. The characters aren't built up equally either. Who the F*CK is Auron? Some guy sleeping in a basement just wakes up and joins my party. In FFXII every character is as important as the next and the story actually draws you into WANTING to play the game. I just played FFVII to find out when it would get exciting.
(BTW I had the exact same experience as Yahtzee playing FFXIII at around 6-8 hours I had to quit, the game is too linear and fights consists of repeatedly pressing auto battle over and over again).
XD funnily enough, I did enjoy Halo 1s multiplayer, but only because my friend had his two old computers and a laptop with halo trial on them, so us and his little brother just played 4 player, with one random from the internetz, and just fucked around with warthogs. Warthog demo derby FTW!thahat said:quoted while grinning for truth @ the collorfull armours of halo 1-2-3 and all other premium cheese delux with extra spinoff to boot-s XDcaptaincabbage said:It's gotta be Halo for me. not just Halo, but 2, 3 and all the spin offs. although, halo 2 multi was just fun. the rest... prety much sucked balls ( oke, il give you halo ones campain for the novelty value )
GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!!Not G. Ivingname said:random980 said:COD6. Its....just...so...GENERIC.MW2 and Halo are on the high sales they are on only because of the multiplayer. It is not balanced multiplayer, Halo 3 has some very fast vechiles that can be extremely frustrating to try to take out without tracking ability of a hawk, and MW2... well... snipers, noobtubes (without penalty), air support, nukes... take your pick. However, both of them are popular because how much it rewards the player for the kills. In halo, rising through the level means new fancy armor you get to show off, in MW2, every kill gives you points. Doesn't matter how skilled the kill was, 5 points in most mode per kill. Since these points go to new fancy weapons and perks, people want them all. Once you gotten them all? You get to do that all over again just for one symbol next to your name.captaincabbage said:It's gotta be Halo for me. not just Halo, but 2, 3 and all the spin offs. That. To me it really seem like pretty much every other generic shooter out there with nothing unique about it. Well, except maybe the pink and purple guns... I guess I didn't care for it because I'm more attracted to the post-apocalyptic dark and grungy settings...captaincabbage said:It's gotta be Halo for me. not just Halo, but 2, 3 and all the spin offs. And a small thing about your post, the bit I've bolded, Auron appears in FF X, not FF VII. The guy you're thinking of is Vincent.
Modern warfare wasn't anywhere close to what used to be considered realistic shooters. They go by the name Tactical Shooters. And good tactical shooters are actually very realistic.tehweave said:Modern Warfare 1. COD4 has been praised by everyone I know, and I can't find myself liking it at all.
Not only that, but the whole "realistic shooter" genre hasn't wowed me yet.
I don't like realism in games. I want a game to be as unrealistic, insane, crazy, and off-the-wall as it can get. Show me how nuts you can be, developers! I can take it!!!
