Grand theft auto 4, Gears of War, Modernwarfare 2.I never hear an end to them. Gears looks like someone colored it in with the findings of a toilet, GTA is just getting old- It's good and controvercial, but thats not the reason you should buy it, and MW 2 will be gone the second a shooter with better multiplayer comes out.Note how all these are 360 game. Not to say it's a bad console, but noone playing lately plays games with good naritives or a real single playercampaign
text wall- sorry

You know, people don't play Gears of War for the story. They play it because it's, I don't know, fun. I don't dig the whole Modern Warfare games that are coming out. They're just... bland. They are way overhyped for what they are.

Guess it all comes down to preference... I don't mind colorfulness (which is an actual word!?), but I prefer the darker destroyed settings...
I tend to think of environments without color as a way of copy/pasting and not having to create colors of a game world. But I do sometimes enjoy colorlessness (very sparingly, though).

There aren't many (if any) games I hate, but there are quite a few that bewilder me with their popularity.

The Zelda series is one that springs to mind. I don't think it deserves the mass of hype it gets.
I was also quite underwhelmed by Oblivion. I quickly grew bored of it. Maybe its because I'm not a huge fan of RPGs, but I much preferred Fallout 3...

Half Life 2 was boring to me. I also thought the graphics sucked. I also hated Team Fortress 2. Portal was good though.

Mass Effect.

I got so damn sick of all the talking. And the vehicle sections were awful. I played it at a friends house and looked at him and said, "Isn't this an action/adventure thing?"

And he's like, "Yeah...it's suppose to be..."

And then we slogged through a half an hour more and just turned it off to play Grand Theft Auto.

And what is with so many games having military officers named 'Shepherd'.

Partly agree with OP. Though I don't actually hate them I never could get into the Gears Of War games, mostly for the reasons people have already stated so I won't reiterate.

A game I did hate was Conflict: Denied Ops, an impulse buy that I have never forgiven myself for, sold it the next day after an hour or so playing. Absolutely awful.

GTA. It may have been fun once, as it was still a new gameplay, and to experiment a bit with virtual disasters when you still can be entertained by that. But I don't like the gangster aesthetic and the "stories". Extremely boring. Also any sports game ever created. And Mass Effect, because it could be so good, but it's very mediocre. About most quests and storylines I couldn't care less, although the information on the starmap about the different planets - how they were discovered, what they are used for, and unsolved mysteries - is very interesting.

Mass effect
If i want to read so much text i'll get a book,
I finished it though but i cant remember why
Prototype is also very overrated, I liked it at first but the missions repeat themself and the combat gets dull
I also found I didn't enjoy Mass Effect because of this reason. I just finished it cuz I wanted my impossibly ugly man-creature to get it on with the blue alien.
Prototype was sort of okay, I found that the side missions destroyed any respect I had for the game. If you're not gonna put effort into making sidequests, don't do them. I know the word 'stock' is overused a bit in this forum, but the sidequests in Prototype were the stockiest bunch of stockers to ever stock a stockpile of stock. It's true.

The Halo games and final fantasy 7, While the games were solid and have are good I don't like them because they have made overzealous fanboys who ignore logic and try to distort reality to make there game of choice seem better. So I guess I hate fanboys than the actual games themselves.
