'Popular' Games that you hate

Halo series: While not the worst series out its all been done before, also I think it's trying too hard to rip off the Metroid Prime series (I defy anyone to tell me an elite doesn't look like a space pirate, and the ODST visor blatant rip off of the scanner visor), there's also far too much fanboyism associated with it.

GTA series: Never seen the attraction in it, every game is the same grind-tastic mission set with a slightly different ethnic minority character.

World of Warcraft - Fantasy and subscription payments? ARGH!!

Counter-Strike - In my country it feels like it's greater than God, which it obviously isn't.

Final Fantasy & Metal Gear Solid.

FF is just too grindy for me, and it's always the same sort of plot.
MGS just never appealed to me. It isn't even due to a dislike of stealth games, I love the Thief series.

How the hell can you hate an upcoming game???

Mostly it was all the empty promises about the game. It seemed really awesome in trailers but disappointed me greatly. It was, literally, a prototype (lame joke, I know)

But there was something else. The game just made me feel bad. Maybe it was the the ugly surroundings (not ugly as in bad graphics, ugly as in tons of red stuff everywhere) or something else, but the game just made me sick. I cannot explain it, it just did.

GTA series, never really liked it.

Though it might not be a hate I have begun to dislike the halo series, preferably halo 3, because thats all my friend wants to play. I dont like multiplayer.

Also even though I have never played MW2 I'm starting to dislike it due to comercials saying its the greatest thing since the coming of Jesus.

Oh, and (dont know if its all that popular or not) any game with the word Wii in the title. kinda makes me sad.

Gears of war and Left 4 dead, gears of war is like halo with different guns and 3rd person. Army of two that game suck cock. and i have a few issues with left 4 dead and some parts of Half life (1 & 2)

Ehm... I'd say I hate World of Warcraft, well I don't HATE it but imo it's a hugely overrated game... Oh yeah and Empire Earth III too! I dunno if it's THAT popular but it's still a horrible game. Perhaps it's because of the lack of support it has :S

My first thought is Call of Duty, although I have to say, I wouldn't hate the game itself if people didn't think it was Jesus Christ come again burned onto a disc.
Also GTA4, because after playing Vice City and San Andreas, it seemed dull, clunky and empty. It's just.. THIS is the one they waited to add a new number to?

Nothing more boring than trying to hang out with friends who play the same damn 6min song over and over again. Hearing the taps and clicks of plastic toys unending has made me hate the game so much.

and WOW, for so much of my life wasted....still miss my Druid though.....

I never liked assassins creed 1 because the only good parts are when you actually kill your targets, but most of the game is just looking for side missions to get more health. But, the problem is, that you have to do the side missions or you'll get killed at the end of the game when you have to fight through waves of soldiers out in the open.

F-Zero GX

I don't get what the reviews see in giving it a high score, but that game is HORRIBLE! It's one of the worst games I ever played, and it's rare I ever find one.

Anything with regenerating health. The modern mix of RPG and FPS. Games where graphics and realism takes precedence over fun and storyline.

What's so bad about regen health? before, all you had was a health bar which really pissed me off since it was fairly common to go into a massive boss fight with 2 health. Also, health bar games had no strategy. Before you either had massive health pools (Half-Life 1 & 2) which made stratigizing pointless since you often were better off standing out in the open shooting anything that moves make thinking irrelevent, or you had so little health (GRAW) that it was essentially imppossible due to being shot from all sides, outnumbered eighty to one, and not able to take more than one shot. I also find a game where I have to shoot crap more enjoyable when I'm not bogged down searching every nook and cranny for health and sheild boosts (or gold in Wolfenstein 2009's case). If you want to know what game I hated, it was Bioshock, since I found it's main selling point, plasmids, useless gimmicks that did nothing for gameplay in any way shape or form which also made big daddies less intimidating since I never had any need to fight them. i don't like to drone on about it though since I clearly did something wrong while playing it. 5,999,999,999 people can't all be wrong, right?

Prototype is also very overrated, I liked it at first but the missions repeat themself and the combat gets dull

Its an RPG. it is like a requirement to have that much text in it.

Yeah but it was overdone, I like dragon age and it has a lot of text, Mass effect nearly had any proper gameplay and it just bored me, If you're into that kind of stuff ok, but i think it was overdone
