'Popular' Games that you hate

First Modern Warfare. I don't really hate it but I dislike the players and the unbalanced gameplay very much. SP is okay though. CoD2 was gold and everything after that hasn't even came close.
Diablo is another one I never liked. Point, smash button, repeat, sell stuff, do quest or something.
GTA I've never liked. I've tried them few times but I always get bored and wonder why people worship these games.
L4D series is kinda fun but what I hate about is that it's nowhere near survival horror. More like generic linear FPS with stuff to slaughter.

It's been mentioned to death, but I can't stress how much I hate the undeserved popularity the Halo franchise got. And Master Chief sitting up there with mascots doesn't sit well with me at all, stupid green douchebag...
Aside from that, Mass Effect. Not so much a hate thing, more confusion as to why it's popular. I bought it because it was only like, £5 in the store. I just could not get into it at all, there was nothing gripping about it at all, not the story, not the gameplay, not anything. For the love of God tell me what I'm missing that makes Mass Effect such a gem. I got up to some weird alien strip-club and decided to give up forcing myself to enjoy it.

Okay clearly you skipped over most of my post because if you payed attention that last part was about everyone loving Bioshock except me. Also, yes I do hide behind boxes but at least that means I have to think. Like Yatzhee said, I find it nice to know that the parts of my brain that aren't shoot, kill, teabag still work.dx__ said:
Pokemon, it's not fun and it's a boring and derivative game that has had no real significant change since its inception. It's not as "deep" as some make it out to be, just shallow and overly simplistic gameplay with nothing more to it. I like turn based combat, but Pokemon is flat out boring and stagnant. How this game can be considered fun by even people who hate turn based combat is beyond me ugh.

OT: MOst of the games that I don't like are games that I haven't even played. Like Modern Warfare 2. I know that I would probably have the time of my life, but I'm just sick of everybody talking about it. That and Gears. For that very reason I wouldn't be surprised if I never pick these titles up. But I do need a new multiplayer since no one is on the F.E.A.R scene anymore. I was thinking of getting on UFC 09, because I had so much fun with the demo, and it just seems like it would be fun to build my guy and take him on line to kick some ass. The controls are just very intimidating is all, because you use all of the buttons on the controller... EVERY button on that ************.

If it came out on the 360, it pretty much makes my list. Imagine, a whole system of games that took way too long to make, are released WAY under developed, are all about the same damn thing, (Super-powered health regenerating mega soldiers spouting 'witty' one-liners at some Alien race that wants to eat us, or what the hell ever) and cost far to much for the absolute mediocrity that they hold in their cases. Not that the PS3 is much better, but at least they have solid download-able content. (I mean games that don't look like a shitty flash game made by someone I shouldn't be paying)
Red Alert 3 wasn't THAT bad, but you're right C&C 4 can die in a fire, and this comes from a fan of the series from it's very beginning. Otherwise [flame shield up] I hate Half-Life 1, I've tried so many times to get into it but just couldn't.
