Porn? Is it right?

What I don't really understand is how there is still money to be made on porn. I heard on some internet news stream that adult stars have increasingly turned to regular prostitution (ie doing their fans) as revenues drop thanks to intahrwebpr0n. I don't know if that's true, but really-- in this day and age who pays for porn?

Seeing as most people are hard pressed to admit they watch porn (irl), I think the entire idea of respecting copyright on pornography is dead on arrival. Ain't gonna work.

In my experience, 90% of all porn I've seen is about as arousing as that fat dude eating the super-size on McD. I'm really not into all that slobbering, bad makeup, brutality and/or acrobatics, that shit just turns me off. Having said that, I'm probably a novice by most standards ... live women are one thing, but pictures just don't do the trick for me....

As a woman, I'd like to say ... bullshit. Are there some women who probably find themselves down on their luck and just want to make a quick buck? Sure. Everything is possible. But it's their body...they can do whatever they want to it. Would I do it? Uh no. But that doesn't make me look down my nose on those who do.
OK, I agree with most of this (woman can do with their body as they please etc) but certainly from my point of view the problem of exploitation is not related to the individual women involved at all. After all, as people have mentioned, they sign up for it & get a good wage etc. The problem comes if people (men and women) start thinking women are just there to satisfy men's sexual needs, which is an image most porn seems to project.

I'm not against porn, but ... I guess I think, if there's going to be this much about, people should at least learn about what real life is about too! (Did anyone in Britain see that "Sex Education" show? Basically huge percentages of teenagers had effectively learned their sex ed from porn, and had ridiculous misconceptions about what was 'normal'.)

My cousin had 60 gigs of porn on his HDD, and one of my mates has 7 phones loaded with it.
I'm all for watching some whore getting jammed when your lonely, but there is a line.
There is a line. I've probably crossed it.

"Right"? well it is right for some people. Just like videogames are right for some, religion for others, pot for others, etc.
As long as it is not illegal, the morality is irrelevant.

(morality, religion and money are all man-made inventions and they have value only in people's minds)

I can't decide if this is meant to be "WTF" or "FTW"...I guess porn can make you say either? Or both?
Both, except I've never had a ftw reaction that had a question mark after it.

Neat avatar. ;)

Did you ever were just browsing the web, peacefully checking facebook and pictures, and then OMFG suddenly a porn website pop-up gets ya! There are just too many porn websites! I mean, I watched a bit of it like any other teenager, and like many of you. but seriously, isnt it a bit too much, and the whole weird 'fetishes' and crap. What the hell is a furry! or 'Two girls one cup' . Its quite disgusting and sickening, what do you think?
To me porn is fine if your single, like it or not it has its uses especially as a teenager (it does educate, the normal stuff I mean not the weird stuff). But to me its wrong when you have a partner, since it's like committing adultery IMO, not as bad but morally wrong (I now have a missus and I have neither gone to nor had the urge to go to a porn site, and we're not even close to doing it yet).

Like it or not porn is here to stay, its upto each person to decide if they consider it right or wrong.

Too many reasons for porn to really get an argument-but-not-rant down.

I guess simply, I don't really see any sort of "dark side" of it.

I can see where you're coming from with this, and agree. Then I have to ask: is it a problem with the person's background, how they were raised, what they learned in school? Your statement about teens learning sex ed from porn is....rather frightening. Was it a study based only in Britain? I can't but think that that is happening in the US as well...I mean hell I had a friend recently tell me her boyfriend didn't even know what menstruation was. He was home schooled . Talk about lack of insight on his parent's part.

So I guess we need to not argue about porn being bad, per say, but that it's audience (be it 50 year old Bob who just wants to get off after a hard day of work, or 8 year old Timmy who stumbled on dad's secret pron folder) understand it's context.

OTP: As a Yaoi fangirl, I do have to say, its ok in little bite sized pieces. Drawings (yaoi, yuri, ect) are ok./..as long as their not overly insane (nose-bleed insane)

Porn is boring, seen one - seen them all at it has next to nothing in common with 'teh real thing'. Personally i cant see whats so special about a a cick bouncing for 5 minutes ontop of a butt-ugly guy pretending ot moan while using 3 to 4 words. Its lasts too long as is just tedious to watch. But then again i ain't the target gender for those flicks i guess ;/
As for ammount of it on web? Well apparently there is demand for it. Simple as that.

I must say tho i do enjoy a good erotic photography or graphic if it actually holds some artistic valors.

the thing is its just porn and its a part of life. whether you accept that or not is entirely up to you. i say porn is okay.in fact its more likely to keep a teenager inside wanking off than outside causing trouble.

It's porn, deal with it. If you don't like it go be a mormon or an amish or something.

I'm all for porn, always gonna be around anyway. Can't see it really corrupting anyone.

But its good for lonely people, connoisseurs of masturbation techniques and couples that basically use it like yoga or self-help vids

I personally think porn sohuld be restricted to dvds that you must buy to watch...I mean 11 year old kids watching porn is messed up...there needs to be some sort of restriction, right? It's not like a "only enter if you are 18" window is going to stop them

Well obviously we don't exactly talk about the S-word in Britain that much, so the answer they came up with was that sex education is first approached in school at the age of about 14, while the average age of the first viewing of porn is closer to about 12 (if I remember correctly). And of course it may have something to do with what exactly is taught in school (I unfortunately went to catholic school & was only taught that sex leads to pregnancy, syphilis &, if you're lucky, death).
As far as I know, it was only conducted in the UK, but presumably it applies to anyone with access to the internet and a less-than-100% 'open' background.

It just is, really. It's out there and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I don't like it but I don't hate it. To each their own and if someone enjoys hentai, furry, porn, etc. so be it. I'm not gonna judge. -shrug-
