I have been out of the loop for about 3 weeks now, but what happened to Indigo anyway?

love the poll options... Quite original for someone with only 350 posts xD

But alas, what am I to say with my puny number...

More posts doesn't mean they are better in any way shape or form.

Its the quality of the discussion they put forward which I focus on, not a bunch of numbers.

Sortof, if some guy with 5 posts does something stupied (unless it's trolling), I'll try and defend him from the incoming flaming, if it's a 3000 post guy, he has no exucse since he should know thr rules by now

First option.
Only because the average post by somebody with a low post-count tends to be atrocious. I'm sure I was [and still am, despite my shiny Gonzo status] the same.

While consciously I know post count does not indicate the quality of posts or the intelligence of the poster, I subconsciously do tend to judge by post count, hence I think of people like Max and Ultrajoe (or those with a lot of posts but not quite as many) as in authority here (ok, bad examples, those two are to an extent a non-moderator can be).

No, I am clearly better than Max Indigo and UltraJoe combined despite having about 1/25th of their total posts.

Quite the opposite, really. Some of the long-timers are becoming purely complacent, which leads to really shitty, content-free posts, for which they are banned/suspended.

When I first got here, sure, I tended to listen to people with higher post counts, but now I've come around to realizing that a well-presented opinion is just that, no matter who the hell says it, and I'm not going to dismiss the post of someone with seniority as "they've been here so long that they assume everybody already knows their stance, therefore 'lolwut' is totally acceptable, self-contained post."

Not really.
Though I sometimes think people with huge post counts need to get out more.
But my post count is pretty big..

-cries-
well you have to take into account how long they have been a member

Not at all.

I do judge people who appear out of nowhere with low post counts, a recent joining date and post something stupid or overdone.

But in general I couldn't care less about post-count or joining date.

No, but joined date, name, and avatar are weighted in my opinions.

Why, because join date represents how tied they are to the community as well as how respectful they are. Anyone can click on a topic and post, but if they've been doing it for 4 years, then they win some points in my book.

Name is not weighted too heavily unless it mentions a proper noun.

Picture is the single most important tool of judgement in my opinion. Its a quick 1000 word essay that says something personal about you.

Post count is however not something I care about, and if anything its a negative if its too high. Why because then I assume that either they are needlessly talkative and post for the sake of posting without adding thought or care to the post, or they have more spare time then me...and thats saying something.

EDIT: I also judge people on their "badges", but only if they proudly display a Christmas themed vault-tec bobble-head that indicates that they were chosen by the gods as their personal instrument.

Rule seven of Games Workshop Middlsebrough: Its all about the quality.
I think this applies here too
I always thought rule 7 was "Don't take the p***"

I've got quite a few posts and quite a few friends. If you go by my words then that's up to you. Doesn't bother me.

Mmmhh... Trying to boost our opinion about you by increasing your posts amount??
That's a dirty trick...
