Omg, robots have revolted!*Throws EMP grenade* Phew, glad we had the intelligence to invent a way to destroy our own creations just in case for this likely scenario of rebellious sentience! :3

electronics + you IN water = you dead.
So if I drop a toaster in at one end of the pacific ocean, beach goers will fry at the other...MUHAHAHAHA!

Make some kind of time machine to go back in time and kill the creator of the robots....

Or...

Create some kind of resistance that hacks into the.. er... matrix.. and blow up (or make a deal with) the big naughty robot/computer in charge.

"Killbots have a preset kill limit. Knowing their weakness, I simply sent wave after wave of my own men at them until they reached their limit and shut down."

"Yeah... still, we can always build more killbots!"

Cookie for reference.
The first one is Captain.Zapp Brannigan and the second one is Bender Bending Rodrigues.Bth from Futurama.

Killbots, huh? It's a big problem - they come in variety of forms, and are more efficent than zombies, but still can't be reasoned with. There's only two solutions.

Solution A: logic bomb.

Solution B: electromagnetic bomb.

And oh,Solution C: don't create AI without Three Laws and emergency override. It's not like killbots can evolve out of random e-waste.

Why is it always a robot or zombie apocalypse? Why can't we have something more interesting like.....ant apocalypse?

Whatever, I would do the same thing in every apocalypse; get killed.

You make a very good point, but not all of us are trained in 4' long electrified staff warfare.

The last episode of Red vs Blue Reconstruction. Great series. My cookie!

Joking aside, most of the good plans have already been done. I rather like the idea of building a city underground, like in the Matrix. Advanced enough machines (I say machines, not robots) would be unaffected by an E.M.P., if not the masses then the central "brain" would be. I would set out to destroy all sources of power to the machines, shutting off power to the source would disorganize them and then the individual machines could be deal with on a find-shoot-kill basis.
congradulations

True true, I am as of now giving very cheap lessons for the Robo-pocalypse.

I would gut my microwave to find the microwave emitter then attach it some sorta firing weapon then go out into the woods and survive off baked beans.

Oh, well since i can't do that, i'd wait till the world rains and then just elecracute everyone.
Red vs Blue.(Edit)Damn so close to having a cookie.

My plan is to hack into a small number of them and have them fight for me.

There are several million threads about surviving a zombie apocalypse, but I haven't really seen any about surviving a robot uprising. How would you.
(Note: Before everyone shouts EMP! know that magnetic shielding exists and you would also need a reasonable method of obtaining one)
So what, we talking something like Terminator?

I'd call in Optimus Prime.

Hire John Connor and Summer Glau.
Won't Christian Bale do?

And if the ruler of the robots is a learning computer, can't we do what they did in that movie where they got the machine to play Tic-Tac-Toe with itself?

Robots are not as bad as zombies. They are limited by power reserves, have various ways of being desroyed, they cannot infect anyone so there numbers no not grow, death is also generally less painful.

If they were the Borg on the other hand, a kind of cross between zombies and robots, I would be really scared

Perhaps we should specify the nature of these killer robots a little more?

Random robots simply gone crazy, we might win. However I'm going to go ahead and think crazy singularity level AI and then we are screwed. All it has to do is launch a rocket out to like Pluto and have the rocket build Pluto into a giant computer/factory mix and we couldn't do a thing. Also you know it would be a hive mind because the sentient one would just hack all the others one by one when it became sentient. There would be no hope, they probably wouldn't go for the mass invasion crazy thing but would just take over major military and power bases. Don't think stupid robots running around with pistols, think never sleeping, never relaxing, heat seeing, motion sensing, sniper robots. Tanks can overrun snipers right? They would simply artillery shell any vehicle they see also.

Sentient AI would definitely go into crazy fail safes since it would be the only one of its race, and of course wouldn't want to die. It send minor computers into the earth with geothermal energy harvesters, launch solar powered robots into space that would never be caught.

Paradoxes and viruses would not work. If it is sentient it would simply ignore whatever nonsense you say, or if it listened simply realize its a trick.
Sentient AI processing a Paradox
Information Harmful?
Possibly Helpful?
If check send to processor 679 to be analyzed.
Processor 679 overloaded by paradox.
Processor 679 abort current command, send information leading to overload.
Overload caused by paradox, paradox is now categorized as harmful.

Viruses would be a joke, you couldn't send it a virus because it would immediately recognize commands from outside sources or, as before if infected wipe out computer effected. A hive mind computer would create virtual computers within itself so it could multitask and do damage control.

THERE IS NO HOPE THE SINGULARITY IS HERE!!!

Spray them with sea water and let them rust...convince them to use windows vista fot their OS, then watch them fatal error and crash...Create hot female robots to distract them...Take the giant Duracell battery out of their back...Dress up like a robot and start a coupe within their ranks...

This isn't rocket science.
