Good reviews - check. Zelda game - check. Shitty, shitty Wii controls - check. Playing the same game you played before - check.

I don't see how this could be a 10. Or even an 8. Everyone yells about shooters like CoD recycling, but Christ - this is yet another Legend of Zelda game that I have played before. The controls are bloody awful. It is a good game, mind you, but it deserves nothing higher than a 7.
I'll be direct here, have you even played the game? If so, then that's your take on the matter, and I respectfully disagree.
If not, then please refrain from bashing the game without knowing or having experienced anything on the subject matter.

For I have played the game. In my opinion:
The controls are, for a lack of a better term, amazing. They're not perfect yet, but pretty darn close. Combat is fluid and unique, making every battle fun and memorable. The formula behind the game's design has also been reworked. So it's not 'another Zelda'. It's something new, an innovation in the series. It's not the biggest departure mind you, the game hasn't turned into another genre, but the basic formula has been changed up to a point that it feels new and you never know what to expect even if you've played all other Zelda's before.

But if you have played the game, I wonder. What do you dislike about the controls? Or your reasoning why it's not that great a game? I'm curious, because I don't see it and I am far from a fanboy.

I'm betting a large number of people saying "It's just the same game over and over again LOLOLOLOLLL!!" either haven't played *any* of them or have only played one or two for a few minutes. Why care if the story is similar each time if you haven't even experienced it for the first time?

Just because the overall story is usually the same (save Zelda from Ganon), doesn't mean the games are. It's like saying that Timesplitters and CoD are the same game because the main objective is to "shoot bad guys". Or it's like saying "I've eaten a burger before, so I'll never eat another one again. Why bother? I know how it ends!!" - what you're missing is that, although it's always meat in-between a bun, it's still damn good, and each place you go to will make them taste differently.

I think it's different for everyone.

My Skyrim (PS3) and a friends(360) are more buggy than New Vegas. Another has had a Ps3 version and had little trouble.

I really think people here need to grow up tho. Personally I found Skyrim to be a helluva more repetitive than most of the other games released recently due to the huge amount of fetch quests and the same looking dungeons and caves over and over.

Further proof that Reggie is an idiot. Yeah, Skyward Sword looks awesome (and probably IS awesome), but claiming it's the best game EVER for past present AND FUTURE? That's just stupid.

....Wait...is he just doing this as a backhanded way of saying "SEE! We DO care about the hardcore gamers! Now get off my back about Operation rainfall, because those games OBVIOUSLY aren't as good as Skyward Sword so you shouldn't want them, right!" ?

Yeah, I have, and I thought it was mind-numbingly boring and had god-awful controls.

Your point?
Pretty much the fact that it's still the highest scoring game of all time on Metacritic and still considered to be the best game ever by a large portion of the general gaming community.

Good for them! And here I am, still thinking the game was shit.

Also, nostalgia goggles.
Of course. Personal opinion. Most likely I think your favourite game is shit too :p

Just because you think it's shit doesn't mean the world thinks it's shit.
