Oh, you have this down to a science!! I am copying this and going to try it.
If you're really spectacularly thorough, you can get all skills to 100 with a starting intelligence of 3, and luck of 5, but you'll need four luck boosting items to get luck to 9, which is it's max bonus to skills. (The bobblehead gives you 4, which you need for Comprehension, then there are 50 points per skill from books (except melee weapons and barter, which are 49 and 48 respectively), 10 per skill from the bobbleheads, and the rest from your levelups and luck bonus.) You'd have to really track your skill point spending on that though, and you'd only have 10 or so left over.

Also, having a high starting Intelligence maxes you out faster, of course.

And having at least 5 starting Intelligence allows you to do the Power of the Atom quest as soon as you leave Vault 101, getting you a house straight away.

In fact, I think the ultimate minmax build would be:

8 Str, boost to 10 with Ant Might and Bobblehead
5 Per, boost to 7 with Shady Hat and Bobblehead
9 End, boost to 10 with Bobblehead
1 Cha, boost to 2 with Bobblehead (can you say Dump Stat)
3 Int, boost to 4 with Bobblehead
9 Agi, boost to 10 with Bobblehead
5 Luck, boost to 9 with Bobblehead, Lucky Shades, Ranger Combat Armour, Lucky 8 Ball

That gives you all the physical stats (melee damage, carry weight, HP, and AP) at max, enough skill points to max out if you're very careful, and a character who is a demon with every kind of guns, melee, and unarmed out of the box. Pick Lockpick, Science, and Repair as your tag skills (but you do that anyway, don't you?). Charisma is a born dump stat in this game, because all the perks for it are crap, and it's only tied to two relatively pointless skills, whereas Agility is tied to 3 good ones. 4 points taken off of Charisma and given to Agility gives you a profit of 8SP.

Edit: Having worked it out, this build gives you 1344 skill points by level 20 with the selected equipment, which is every skill at 100 with 44 left over if you get every book and bobblehead, and that's with no picks in Intense Training for more SPECIAL points)
I copied this to print out, this ROCKS! Thanks!!

Is there any way at all to play this if you don't have a live account? Can you get a buddy to put in on a usb or something? Or to you have to be hooked up to live to play?
No, it is single player, no Live needed at all.
So if I give my buddy the money for the MS points, he can download it to a usb and install it onto my hard drive?
Oh, I'm sorry, you are talking about the DLC. If you have the PC game, you just use your internet connection, you don't need Live at all. You can download off the Bethesda site by just purchasing it from them, you need a credit card. I will post a link to the site:

Thank you friend! Much appreciated. Unfortunately I am a 360 gamer not a PC gamer so I guess I will have to just bite the bullet and connect to live... goodbye wallet!

As long as you have a broadband connection, all you need to do is plug your Xbox in to the internet, you don't need to sign up for a paid account to access DLC content, only to play online.

I've not played Anchorage yet, but The Pitt certainly looks interesting. I'll definitely be taking a look with my new ninja character (close combat and pistol orientated, main weaopns of choice, currently the chinese officer's sword and the dart gun. Has over 60 ranks of sneak at Level 8)
Wow, you built the sneak up fast! Oh, if you ever do get Anchorage, at the end you get the Chinese General's sword, it is an enhanced Chinese Sword with shock. I love it
I don't recall getting that. Oh well, i usually use the baseball bat anyhoo

There's a guy in my apartment complex who drives a beat-up old wreck of a car (if I had to guess, I'd say it was an '89 or '90 Honda Civic) that looks like something you'd find in the Wasteland, and it's got a nice, shiny Vault-Tec bobblehead on the dashboard. Every time I walk past that damn car on my way to the mailbox I feel like I wandered into Fallout 3.

I'm really interested to see if Interplay loses that Fallout MMO license and if it reverts to ZeniMax. I was actually surprised to learn Interplay was even still around. They deserve a burial in a shallow grave for killing Black Isle as Van Buren was nearing completion.

The Pitt better be good after that Anchorage disappointment. Does Bethesda honestly think myself and five other troops storming a small facility is as epic as that battle was suppost to be? What a major letdown.
My troops never showed up, not sure where they went. I had to battle it out alone, and died like a hundred times because of those invisible ninjas. It was a blast! I loved it, and I loved the great loot I got from it. Fawkes was waiting for me outside the building, and even with him to help me carry I had to make several trips back to load up the loot!

I thought the major battle they spoke of was the one coming up in the Brotherhood of Steel DLC.
The major battle was suppost to be that final mission, the liberation of Alaska. The first three were just preperation. That last mission was suppost to be that epic conflict spoken so highly about in Fallout lore. It wasn't. Instead of tanks, aircraft, thousands of soldiers, etc, we get a small enclosed area with no more then ten people on each side. That was the let-down.

XBox live has two accounts, one free and one paid. The free one is Silver. You can't play online with Silver, or chat, but you can make friends, send messages, and download anything you want. You can even purchase one of those credit cards that just has 15.00 prepaid on it and use it to purchase your DLC. They do require a credit card on your account, but it can be one of those if you don't like them having your credit cards. I've never had a problem with them having my credit card though, they have been really good about it so far.

Sometimes they will even give you 30 days Gold membership for free (to get you hooked). When the 30 days ends, your account will stay active, it will just revert to a Silver membership.

They will only charge that card when you tell them to purchase points, you can trust them. When you hook up the line to your XBox and register for live, they ping your XBox and get the Hard Drive serial number, and the console serial number. Anywhere you go that has an internet connection, you can bring your XBox and you will be recognized (as being you) when you hook up to any internet.

You are right, I just went back and read the original post for it. It did say an epic battle.

I loved it. It was an epic battle for me, I must have died a hundred times going thru that mining town and up into the top of that building. I kept getting stuck between health stations. I had a blast playing it. I don't know why my back up never showed, I asked before each battle zone for troops and he would tell me he was sending them, but they never came. I got one guy that showed up for Chimera, but he stood outside the gates and made me go in alone, lol.

The DLC is 800 MS points, you would have to buy at least 1000, (the points come in increments of 500 each) - that would cost about $12.50 - OR you could hope you win a free copy (you would still need to have XBox Live Silver to get it, as they give it to you by downloading it to your Live account.

Last Month I won Operation Anchorage from Game Focus. The Escapist gave a copy of it away too.

Check Bethesda Soft, The Escapist, Game Focus etc. for contests. Right now Bethesda Soft is giving away a DLC codes for free, to some lucky Fallout 3 fan. I have been watching their site closely hoping to win before I shell out the $12.50, lol.

The fallout 3 DLC prizes are for fans who are more on the fence with the game. I bought my points last night, woke up this morning, got my coffee, then downloaded The Pit immediately afterwards. Can't wait to leave work today to play it! Damn Bethesda for making me an addict of their game.

Lol, they do make addictive games, they got me on both Oblivion and Fallout 3. They would have got me on Morrowind too, if I hadn't played Oblivion first.

***** PROBLEMS WITH THE PITT - XBOX ENGLISH VERSION:

Okay here?s the latest. Our team is doing some final checks late tonight and if everything looks okay, we are hopeful it will be back up and available tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your patience.

Left by gstaff on March 24th, 2009

******* UPDATE:

When they fix the problem, you will have to delete the corrupt version on your hard drive. Go to Memory, games, Fallout 3, and scan down till you find The Pitt, delete, yes.

Then just go to view your downloads. When you find The Pitt, re-download it.

Don't try and re-download till BethSoft announces they have repaired the corrupt copy.

******* UPDATE:

The Pitt should be ready for download March 25, remember to DELETE the corrupt download and corrupt saves BEFORE re-downloading the fixed DLC.

Apparently there are still some problems with the repaired version of The Pitt. I would suggest deleting the download from the hard drive if you had a corrupt download, cleaning the hard drive cache, then try and re-download it. Do a soft cache cleaning when loading up the game as well. If you haven't done your XBox maintenance in a while, do it now.

Also, for anyone ordering it for the first time, check the price before ordering, it seems some person at XBox Live (probably the same person who scanned the master disk with a magnet) has accidentally loaded it in at 1200 points instead of 800 in certain areas.

When you start playing The Pitt, keep one save that is before you downloaded The Pitt. Do not delete that save just in case there are problems, so you will have an un-corrupt place to return to till these bugs are worked out.

The Bethesda Blog has temporarily closed down while they work on these problems (since they got over 550 emails) so as soon as I hear something I will post it here.

So is it safe for me to download the Pitt now on XBox Live, or are there still bugs that need to be fixed?

Another copy has been put up for downloading off Live, but so far I am seeing a lot of problems with it freezing up and crashing. I am waiting to see a clear signal before I download mine. If you do download it, if you have problems, can you post it here? Also, if it works fine, if you don't mind would you post it here (when you are done playing, lol). Not to give spoilers, just let everyone know it is working. (or anyone else that gets the XBox Live version in the US).

If you do download it, check the price also, because some idiot at XBox Live posted 1200 MSP instead of 800. (Probably the same idiot that handled the master with a magnet or something).

On the original download, it passed inspection at Bethesda Soft, and passed inspection at Microsoft. The damage happened to it between leaving Microsoft and being downloaded at XBox Live. Then someone at XBox Live "accidentally" prices it wrong - sound like a disgruntled employee to you? Me too.
