Sarah walked towards her apartment from work. She passed by the people and the coffee shops and shopping centers. The hot L.A. weather comforted her and made her the slightest bit happier.
She finally made her way to her door and put the key in the lock but stopped.
What would happen if I just went to find the others?
Sarah sighed once she recognized how dumb her idea was.
"That would never work."
I'm not going to be here today so feel free to take control of my character. Bye and cya later
"Probably. Lets go in silently, and sabotage the thing from the inside." Samuel said. They pulled over and parked at a highway restaurants. Samuel was feeling hungry.
Sparrow followed Samuel into the resturaunt. He could eat more now, since he hadn't shifted his form in five years. However, something about their current situation made him lose his appetite.
"You know, blowing up a supposed nuclear power plant in the middle of LA isn't the most subtle of moves."

I just realised that the thread's Gone Gonzo with no-one even noticing
Also, since ALLfather's not playing any more, can I suggest we say he died of cancer or something along those lines in the five years? It would be the easiest thing to write into the storyline instead of dragging his ghost around till we can find a convenient way of killing him off.
Dr Stein grumbled to himself as he rushed down the corridor, putting on his lab coat as he did. Half an hour ago one of the orderlies had called him at home about one of their more dangerous patients. Another doctor rushed up beside him and handed him the patients file. Printed on the tab at the top was his name in black ink:
James Arkham Dresden
Dr Stein immediately recalled him. He was at the hospital by order of the United Nations and was in the maximum security section of the asylum. He hadn't been briefed on the details but he knew the patient was dangerous and horribly disfigured. As the two proceeded up the hallway, they could hear loud bone-chilling screams. Further up were two orderlies stood at a steel door looking anxious.
"What happened?" Dr Stein demanded.
"I-I have no idea. I went in to turn the page of his book like normal and he just started screaming like this." One of the orderlies said.
Dr Stein looked into the viewing slot in the door and saw the patient, writhing on the floor and screaming uncontrollably. He couldn't be in pain from his injuries... They'd mostly healed but still left the gaping hole in the side of his face and burned away eyelids. He continued to stare and the patient locked eyes with him. The look in his eyes was frightening. Like fire and ice and rage.
"Shall I alert security?" Asked one of the other orderlies.
"No. Open the door... I'm going to see if I can do anything first" Dr Stein said.
One of the orderlies stepped forward and unlocked the door. Dr Stein stepped inside.
"Close the slot and the door. I don't want him feeling pressured" Dr Stein said.
The orderly nodded and did so. The two of them and the other doctor waited nervously for several minutes until finally, the screaming stopped. Hearing a knock on the other side of the door, they took it for a signal to open the door. They did so and Dr Stein was stood there.
"Well?" The other doctor asked.
"I managed to get through to him. He's resting... Nobody is to disturb him" Dr Stein said in a commanding tone.
The orderlies and the doctor looked at each other. Suddenly, Dr Stein's eyes went out of focus and he slumped onto the floor. The orderlies immediately attended to him while the doctor checked the room. The patient was nowhere to be found. Immediately running outside he slammed him fist down a button on the wall, causing several alarms to go off.
"He's gone!" The doctor shouted, completely oblivious to Dr Stein's shadow, which was making its way down the hall of its own accord.
It was mid-morning in Chicago, the sun was shining brighter, people were getting ready for work. It was a rather peaceful day for such a hustling city. Iceous was sick of it.
I hate this concrete jungle. Even if strange people like myself can find refuge here, it isn't home. I miss the desert.
Since his smashing success with Cicle, he'd put voice boxes in all of his ice-pets, Sarah, Snowball, Jake, and Sir Mathew. In retrospect, maybe he shouldn't have. Sarah kept mistaking Jake for a bird and attack him, which would set him into one of his fighting fits to prove dragons are better than all. Sir Mathew kept butting in on Cicle's privacy, as was a dog's nature. After enough needling, Cicle would bite down on his nose and force him to run off. Then Snowball would just try to console him until she made him feel better. The bloody rabbit just made thing more hectic.
This is just worse now that they can talk... Maybe it's time we moved somewhere. Somewhere that's more like home.
Iceous took out his laptop and did a quick search. It turned out nothing in Texas was available to his requirements. Unbelievable. A similar result showed up for almost every other warm state, except for California. It may not be home, but it's close.
"Cicle, Sarah, Snowball, Jake, Sir Mathew, I need to talk to you all!" The ice-creatures ran in, with the exception of Jake, who flew. "Do any of you want to go on an adventure?"
Without exception, they all declared their approval with screams.
"Well, I've found a nice little place we can go, but we have to get there carefully. We're going to a nice little house outside of Los Angeles."
Everyone agreed with gusto except Snowball. "When are we going?"
"In a few days. You'll all get a lot more space to play in, because they have a high demand of ice sculptures there. I'm off to make arrangements, so play nice."
Iceous left the apartment and lock the door. This..... is going to be Hell.
Sparrow slumped down at a table, and Samuel sat across from him. The waitress brought over their coffee.
"Well, the way I see it, each transformation knocks off about two weeks, maybe a month tops. Theres nothing wrong with me using it every now and again."
Sparrow took a sip of his coffee, which was extremely hot, and burnt his tounge.
"Whell, it sheems wee haf no choith", Sparrow blurted out.
Samuel drank from his coffee, which was extremely bitter. He looked for a sugar jar, but didn't find any. He put the cup down.
"Probably not. I wouldn't ask this of you if it wasn't important." He said.
He quickly ate his food and paid the waitress. They went outside the restaurant. Samuel looked at the distant building, hidden through a thin layer of rare fog. He sighed, not happy that he would be doing this again, and lifted himself a few inches of the ground so that he wouldn't slow them down, and wouldn't make a noise.
Sparrow walked beside Samuel, as they made their way to the back enterance of the compound. Several guards we're positioned at all points around the building.
"Pretty heavily guarded for a nuclear power station, isn't it?"
Samuel said something about Americans being paranoid fuckwits, but Sparrow wasn't listening. He poked his head round the wall, trying to think of a strategic enterance. Samuel stretched his arm behind his back, and looked at all the stationed guards.
"Alright. I will." Samuel said. He closed his eyes and breathed deep. He hadn't used his anomaly for big things for quite some time. He forgot how good felt to be in total control, to have absolute power.
He traced the strings of the guards that stood between them and the nearest entrance and incapacitated them by cutting the flow to the brains. They fell after a few seconds of panic and wouldn't be awake for quite some time. Samuel let the people live. He had nothing against them, they were just doing their jobs. Innocent people.
"There, now we can just stroll in." Samuel said after returning to his normal state of mind.
Sparrow looked left and right, mainly searching for security cameras.
"Alright, here we go."
Samuel followed behind Sparrow, as they carefully broke the lock on the back door, and crept through the corridor. They slowly made their way up to the top floor. Several guards, most likely on their break, stared them in the face.
Samuel took them out with quick slices to the neck and spine. It was a relex, else he wouldn't have killed them. Blood dripped on the floor and the sound of people drowning in their own blood echoed through the hallway.
Samuel cleaned up the mess, after regaining his familiair headaches again. He turned to Sparrow.
"Do you want to clear their data first? I could create an explosion here, there are several oxigen pipes in the walls."
"Lets get the data, then bolt. I'm fairly certain that just gained us some attention."
Sparrow and Samuel sprinted, or in Samuel's case hovered, down the hallway. Samuel instantly went to work on the computer mainframe once they reached the main office, as Sparrow searched the complex. It seems that the guards weren't allowed in this part of the building. As he heard several bleeps from the computer, Sparrow slowly walked up to a sealed off door. He used the shotgun Samuel had given him back at the apartment to break the lock. Blood poured from underneath the door, as Sparrow slowly opened it.
"Samuel. I think you better see this."
Aesis lay tortured, and beaten, tied down to a chair. Sparrow felt for a pulse in his neck, but didn't find one.
"The fuckers. They must have been probing him for information about us."
"Probably." Samuel said. He looked at the beaten form of Aesis. He had wounds all over his body, cuts, bruises, burn marks and broken limbs. Samuel had never really become friends with Aesis but this death still saddened him.
"I've found some tabs that were useful." Samuel said to Sparrow, "I put them on a USB. Lets just get out of here."
Sparrow nodded and they turned their back on the beaten shell that was once Ace. Samuel had to put himself down on the ground, the floating was proving to be too much for him to keep up. He walked as fast as he could after Sparrow. When they were out of the main office multiple guards came running from both the left and right. All armed.
Patrick had woken up to the noise of a ringing phone. Answering it had confirmed his worst fears: Doc had woken up from his stupor and escaped.
Goddamnit! he thought, as he climbed out of the manhole. I told them to stay away from him if he woke up. And what do they do? They open the freaking door! Idiots...
That thought was halted by a more pressing one. I need to tell the others. They'll be in danger with Doc out and about again.
There was only one problem: Patrick had no idea where the rest of the Prototypes were. He'd have to track them down, one by one. When he got to the station, he recieved orders that would help: Patrick was to transfer to LA and help them take down The Kingdom's leadership. He'd now be able to leave the city no questions asked.
Patrick reached out with the Gift, looking for his friends. He had become more skilled with it: Pat could now locate specific people from several states away, and even if they were outside his specific radius he could still get a general direction.
Sparrow and Samuel were looking down the barrel of multiple guns. Sparrow had no choice.
"Get behind me Samuel!"
Samuel, unsure of Sparrow's plan, stepped behind Sparrow. The guards caught on, and fired a hail of bullets in their direction. Sparrow took on the form of a wall, which Samuel hid behind.
Patrick and Iceous could get on the same flight. Say Patrick has to travel to your destination, to get the plane. Or you travel to him if it's thats not geographically right.
