Send her to military school, would love to see how much she would get away with. Kicking her out just wouldn't come with the same satisfaction of knowing someone else is drilling her arse and there is nothing she can do about it.

i never acted out when i was little.

its easy math me + action - parental approval = spanking.
me + action + parental approval = "okie honey go do that"
than again my mom was nice enough to let me do ANYTHING as long as i asked and told her im doing it.
like "hey mom, can i watch basic instinct (R rated movie w/ sex /nudity" her:"ur only 9....sure, go ahead"
or "hey mom, can i go drinking w/ my friends? (no drinking age in romania)" her : "sure, call me if ur too drunk" gotta love that at 12.
anyway, yea spankings = good.
My sister was alwas spanked, sometimes a little too hard, and look how she turned out.
I was rarely hit if ever yet turned out alright.
Go figure that math

Well a teenage girl is bound to have more insecurities than a normal person, this might sound mean but the parents whenever she acts out point them out in retaliation either that or send her to boarding school that'll teach her to appreciate what she's got when the teachers don't take her shit :)

Kudos to you for making me reach up to my monitor to try and flick your avatar off my screen.

On topic... man, some of you guys are a bunch of right-wing hardnoses. Sure, I don't have any real solutions, but... kick her out and hope she dies? This is the best you can come up with? Hope you folks don't end up running the world any time soon.

If she's like that at 16, it's too late for parental discipline. They failed. Kick her out and cut communication. Maybe she'll overdose in a gutter somewhere and make the world a better place.
I think I agree. The apple's rotten. Throw it out.

Smoking Weed does NOT make someone a druggie. It's not a drug, it's a feckin' herb, it's no more of a drug than coffee. Just thought I'd clear that up.

Cannabis has psychoactive and physiological effects when consumed. The minimum amount of THC required to have a perceptible psychoactive effect is about 10 micrograms per kilogram of body weight. Aside from a subjective change in perception and, most notably, mood, the most common short-term physical and neurological effects include increased heart rate, lowered blood pressure, impairment of short-term episodic memory, working memory, psychomotor coordination, and concentration. Long-term effects are less clear.

Consumption of caffeine does not eliminate the need for sleep, it only temporarily reduces the sensation of being tired throughout the day. In general, 25 to 50 milligrams of caffeine is sufficient for most people to report increased alertness and arousal as well as subjectively lower levels of fatigue.
Silly stoner.

Ok...

Sad as it sounds you're just gonna have to wait for her to fuck up bad. That usually kick-starts the growing up process if the parents don't want to kick them out.

I've been that unruly teenager and I've also had friends like that. We have all at one point or another done something colossally stupid that's got us in a shit heap of trouble. Nothing puts you on edge or makes you think twice quite like waiting to go into court... again.

We all learned from our mistakes and grew up quicker than we wanted to. It's a bit of a shame but we made our beds. Afterwards we learned not to be such little shits.

My parents have never spanked me, and I have never been arrested, don't drink, do drugs, or any of that stuff.

Although I would argue that underage drinking or drug use is not absolutely bad. I know people who use drugs that lead fine, productive lives. I would also argue that hitting your children can be damaging to the their mental health. Not saying you are like that, but in general, research has shown that it is harmful.

I think alot of people on here don't think about the situation from the position as the parent.

I'm in her age arena myself (17, 18 in August) and all my friends are too. I know some of them are stoners, not too much, and in my knowledge, kids like her don't *just become like that*.

She met someone at school who started her off on it. Unless your cousine's parent's are really, really horrible, she got started off somewhere else.

Not that it matters. It isn't a case of how she become so, just that she is. If she is over 16 and doesn't go to school, or does, doesn't matter, kick her out. Eventually she'll run out of places and come back. If she isn't, discipline. Give her no money, secure yours so she can't steal any. Don't take her anywhere. It will cut her back some over time.

(This coming from a child who was spanked)

Talk to her about why she takes weed. She must have something she wants to escape from.

Or if shes just a pot head its harder.

Wait, what's the difference?

OT: Meh, lets blame society and discipline them. Then ignore the family... :D

reminds me of my sister.

Basically, teh parents fucked up when she was growing up.

It's not their fault per se, but not every teenage girl is a monster.

When my brother used to say, "I'll call for child abuse" my mom would say, "Go ahead. There's the phone."

Call her bluff. And if she calls the cops, they'll conduct an investigation and they'll see what a monster she is.

But if her parents are letting her get away with this crap in the first place, then they are probably not cut out to actually put boundaries on her.

If she were my kid, I'd whip her ass. No problem there. I have no patience for that kind of bullshit.

I couldn't agree more. If she hasn't learned by 16 and she has a drug and alcohol problem, the only way to stop it is to force a shock to her system. In this case, kick her ass out, change the locks, and see how she likes it with no money to pay for drugs and drinks. Even if she stays at a friend's house, she will probably get kicked out of there fairly quickly. For bonus points, cut service to her cell and give the police her description and past activities.

I've known people who have begged on the street, stolen things and offered sexual favours for weed.

I've known people who have spent all their Giro on weed as soon as they've received it, then sustained on stolen and begged food for 2 weeks.

I've also had my house broken into and my door kick in by people after the weed they thought was kept there.

If that doesn't make them druggies, what does it make them... enthusiastic herb connoisseurs?
NEWT students studying advanced herbology?

seriously though, cannabis is as much a drug as any other, it's just that taking it is seen as acceptable.
Where is it seen as acceptable?
